and would really enjoy the experience of assisting in whatever small way that I can towards the eventual release of RS2.

I did have the benefit of performing the role as a beta tester for RS2 before, albeit very briefly, - though I was regretfully compelled to resign my application due to professional constraints upon my time.

I have a good Internet connection and am online regularly, and play RS pretty much so every day!

I have some very rudimentary modding skills, (nothing like you guys!) though I am confident about my ability to post detailed messages describing any potential bugs that I may run into.

I would be delighted if you and your colleagues would favour my application with acceptance and I would play very hard!

    Regards,
    TheAeneas
I'm leaning towards a yes on this one....

I would tend towards a yes, but maybe some more screenshots first.

As promised, an update of pictures:

I have recently started a campaign as Rome H/H on RS1.6, and I have taken pictures from my playing during today, so hopefully this will be of some use? Regretfully, it is by no means a full campaign and I also played quite a bit more aggressively than I normally do simply so that it seems more impressive

In the past I have played through the whole game (world domination) with Rome (save for one region which I could not bring myself to take ) and come very close to world domination while playing as Carthage.

I have achieved the faction objectives for most of the factions in the game (except for the free people of course.) but my favorite factions are definitely Rome and Carthage!

    RS ver 1.6
    Faction: Rome H/H
(I generally follow Cheeryfunk's Auxilla legion system when playing, with a slight variation in troop recruitment.)
Unfortunately I only have pictures from 550 AUC onwards. Marius' reforms have kicked in and the Legions are recruitable.
(Background: I was attempting to expand the Empire along the general lines of Roman Historical Expansion. Stretches you rather thin and makes for some pretty interesting play!
Later on I expanded crazy fast becuase other wise it looks kinda lame as it is over such a short period of time for the screen shots.)

(long period of relative peace, a focus on infrastructure and the retraining of severely depleted Forces)
Our Great Leader (a seriously bad ass general!) Nero Victor has brought southern Greece to heel with the VI Ferrata and now stands ready to advance north, against the Bosporans, while to the west, the Legio V Aldaue stands in Iberia, garrisoning the newly acquired territory in the war against Carthage. To the South, the "Old Guard" (Republican Legion) has stormed Carthage and put the war decidedly in Rome's Favour. Now, the legions are marching once again and the world trembles in anticipation!

(Conquest of Greece, Macedonia, Epirus and parts of Thrace and illyria. Dominance of Transalpine and Cisalpine Gual.)
The mighty Nero Victor, our illustrious Consul strikes with the most famed legion in all Rome, the Legio VI Ferrata! sweeping before it all opposition, the petty bands of Hellenistic infantry of the Bosporus are no match for the deadly stabbing swords of the VI Ferrata! As the VI marches, all of Greece trembles with fear and succumbs to the irresistible force that is the Legio VI Ferrata! The Epirote's, the would be conquerors of Rome now lie in desolation, mighty Macedon - once ruler of the world now begs for mercy! For Rome Never Forgets those who oppose her and can stand no defiance!

In Italy, the Legio XI and Legio Germanica I advance past the Rubicon and Genoa into Gallic territory where the "little War" is fought for the control of the fertile plain beneath the Alps, a viscous conflict of skirmishes fought against a barbarian people.

(Fierce fighting in Iberia against the Gauls, especially the North where they launched a massive counter attack that came very close to breaking through my lines. Eventual conquest of Iberia and destruction of Carthaginian threat)
Legio V Aludae marches relentlessly forward into Iberia, crushing all Gallic armies before it; storming city after city until all Iberia, save the city fortress of Asturica, is firmly under Roman control!

The Primigenia Legion moves deeper and deeper into Punic territory, to pry forth the few stragglers of the once mighty Carthaginians from the desert and asserts control over all North Africa! Finally in the winter of 558 AUC, the Carthaginians are crushed, forever ending the longest and most brutal war Rome has yet waged and decisively decided the struggle against those who would oppose us to our favour! In honour of this great victory a mighty triumph is held in Rome and there is great merriment and joyous celebration! The Primigenia is honoured by our esteemed Faction Leader, Nero Victor and is second only to the Legio VI Ferrata throughout the empire!

The Winter War of 558 AUC in the Iberian North where the Legio V Aladue stands against the final stronghold of Gallic Iberia, asturica; was brought to a conclusion by the brave efforts of General Gaius Canuleius and his Legio V Aladue, where the Legions fought off continuous counter attacks from the north and eventually brought the city to it's knees! for it's pointless defiance of Rome the inhabitants where put to the sword and the city set ablaze! the smoke from the deadly fires throughout the city have sent a dark blemish into the heavens so that all of Iberia may see the price of defiance against Rome!

    (advance into the North)
The largest attack Rome has ever launched is underway, the Legio V, Legio VI, Legio I Germanica, and Legio XI have attacked central Gaul from the West, South and East and are sowing destruction before them!

PS. Shortly after the major invasion of Gaul, I started having serious grief! provinces throughout Africa started rioting and the Bosporus and Macedonians attacked in the east, capturing a few cities. In Gaul, I have met with success in the battle field, however my legions are depleted and again the Gauls have launched a counter attack form the north, only this time they have broken my several of of now depleted armies and are firmly marching south, where 2 towns have already rebelled against me and in favour of them! I cant wait to get stuck in!

I hope this is some what like what you are looking for?

(you dont have to read anything, I can get a bit carried away - I just really like this game!)

If I have misunderstood the requirements for the pictures, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    TheAeneas

well that campaign that he calls 'short' is already at 192 turns, so i can see some commitment (his long campaigns must take a while to do)

I would say beta testing is about 'long term' playing on a regular basis. While they have achieved a lot in a day I would like to see longer committment.

After all one of the biggest promises that the potential beta testers is exactly that and then a lot of them simply fade away.

I'm still going to say yes on this one, even two weeks of solid testing could yield a lot of results from this fella.
