    Default Clone Armies - can mods fix them?

    Apparently, there shouldn't be clone armies at all in ETW. In the vanilla textures, each unit has 4 different faces. Despite this, we only see two different faces per unit on the highest graphics setting.

    Why is this?

    Is there any way that a mod could fix this problem so we can see more unique-looking units?

    I have no idea why it is happening but after you convert the model and even you don't touch faces at model, first 3 faces start to appear in game instead of first 2. I have discovered it while I was doing models for our Ottoman realism mod. Again I said, I didn't touch faces(head parts). Almost all units have 3 faces now in our mod. not 4 but better than 2

    This is interesting. Describe more of what you did. You simply opened up the files and edited them, and the game read 4 of the faces?

    the game never reads 4 of faces. Maybe we should do something for it. What I did was actually nothing but after opening the model at milkshape, then saving and converting again to mesh activates 3 faces to appear in game. (head01, head02 and head03 at the model.) What I did at models were simply adding new hat, new clothes, etc. never touched head parts and didn't grouped them.

    Hmm. Would you be interested in an experiment?

    Try opening up a random texture file. Let's say a Line Infantry.

    Make a really small edit on all 4 of the faces. Like just a dot or something.

    Then try and play that Line Infantry unit in a custom battle. On the highest graphics setting.

    Let's see if editing the files has any effect on whether they show up. Would you be interested in trying?
