    Default Your most underestimated faction?

After trying alot of factions, i recently came across the Getai. I thought they would suck, because they werent that good in vanilla as Dacians, but after doing a custom battle with them I fell in love with their falxmen. Boy are they great Ö. They cut everthing, literally everything down. Awesome flankers. They also have decent cavalry and archers, which makes them super ^^. And you are pretty close to the rich lands of the Bosporus and Greece . I really love them.

urg I hate Dacian falxmen. Their rhompa-armed peltasts can give other skirmishers a good beating and make good flanking forces. In a forest, they can be pretty effective as well

It's one of those units you hate having used against you, but you're a total hypocrite when you have them in your army and just love using them .

Hm yeah, they can come up with a very decent roster . Cataphracts, cataphract horse archers, good spearmen, roman legionaire clones..

    The darn free people.

I never take them seriously, and contemptously invade their lands... often to my own loss, I just never seem to learn my lesson with them!

In my roman campaign I was buying tons of dacian mercenaries and saw first hand their power. It was great. Anyway, I think Iberians. They just don't have the same level of respect as the rest of the barbarians.

No, the cimmerian bosporan greeks take the cake. No one takes them seriously, at least I don't and yet there goes a 1000 legionairres to their graves....

Gotta be the Getae, Dii Warriors pack an unbelievable punch and have a solid infantry/cavalry mix.

Rome, I usually play the 'Barbarian' or Greek style factions but my latest campaign with the pale skinned, lazy, unprepossessing, overrated Romans has made me a believer...though I have yet to drop the name calling. I relish it too much I fear.

    Syracuse.

Every AAR or "post your empire" I see has these guys getting stamped out by the Romans or by Carthage, and granted, when I play as Rome they feel Roman steel in their guts very very quickly. But when I play as an Eastern faction and don't have any major designs over in that part of the map, Syracuse always kicks Carthage out of Sicily and them crawls up the Roman peninsula like a blue cancer.

I agree, Syracuse always beat the crap out of Carthage and then decide that they will have a pop at the Romans as well and for some reason they always manage to beat them on my campaigns. And if its not Syracuse destroyin the carhtaginians, it is the Iberians, who quite alot of the time manage to take spain and roll up the African coast. In the end though they always end up dead like all those who inevitably declare war on me.

Armenians are a pain the ass. You would think there no threat, then they pop you in the mouth with a stack of horse archers/skirmishers/speramen thats hell to beat. Combine that with the fact they can make so many goddamn stacks from their 4 cities.

I have to say the Romans. Played with the Getae a couple of times and the Romans were actually the only ones who really gave me a headache. I most of the time abandoned the campaign because of 40+ years of war with the romans going nowhere, just the same fights at the same settlements/in the same ragions over and over again no matter how many stacks I built up...
Now I'm playing with the Romans and the Getae wiped out Epirus and Macedon then declared war on me, becoming a brown plague, but slowly after 30 years of war I feel I'm slowly taking the upper hand

Carthage. It is so easy to kick their asses. Even for the AI!

The worst RS AI experience I've ever had was my very first capaign with Rome against Iberia. I had just destroyed Carthage and launched a war against Gaul. I had my provinces in Iberia fortified but not well enough. Those Iberian bastards almost pushed my out of the penninsula. Once I sent in the 13th and 10th legion I eventually regained ground and crushed them. Many good Romans died though.
