Default Chariots + Bridge Battles= oops! no good...

I was once playing RTW as the Britons. I had a fantastic general and we met an army of Gauls near a river somewhere. We were fighting and I had pushed them all across the bridge, but there was one unit of swordsmen that had routed while on my side, so as all of my troops except the general were engaged, I sent the general to finish them off so that I wouldn't have to fight them again sometime later. I went back to the battle and then a cut scene shows my general's chariot running into the river and drowning!! It seems that the sword warband ran near the river trying to escape and the chariots followed them, running down into the water and drowning in the process... Great victory, few losses. General drowned by driving chariot into river... Has anyone else had this happen before? Or somthing similar?

One time in custom battle I use 1 full stack of Egyptian chariot and I led them charge the enemy from the other side of the river. Then no chariot can go to the other side because they are push the other and all of my chariot fall into the water

yeah sometimes i've seen units run into the river.

Yet fighting on a bridge can be fun. I call this "The river of Dead":

Just some Phalanx at the end of the bridge, and because there is no railing, most of them pushed their brothers of the bridge. So although there were a lot of dead, i didn't killed so much soldiers

Ages ago, when I was experimenting with modding, I gave town watch such high-morale that they wouldn't rout. Then I got a unit of berserkers on a bridge. With 2 full stacks against it on highest unit settings, they cut huge swathes through the romans, but corpses don't show on the bridge. They go to the water below, and make a long river of corpses. Also, where the bridge and land connect, I looked below the bridge and there were thousands of little Town Watch legs sticking out!

I have had a battle in the high mountains, where when the dead fell, they disappeared into the mountain, but their legs were all sticking out, like a garden... of dead legs...
