    Default Balkans Total War

Did anyone ever make a mod on that region during the middle to late middle age to rennaisance time period?

I didnt see it in the released mods.

I would be a bit shocked if someone hasnt attempted it in the last several years as it was a very interesting theatre of warfare.

If you mean "Battle of the Baltic", they're two different regions. I personally couldn't find "Battle for the Balkans" in the SS sub-mods.
Otherwise, most other Balkan mods that I know are still WIPs - Tzardoms, Latinokratia and BGTW v.3.

That is pretty amazing that such a region would be overlooked for a mod. That place was a literal blood bath tub for hundreds of years. .

True, but it's still not "modern and popular" enough in the current Western culture. In Russia it's probably a bit more popular, but they have plenty of stuff in their own area. The rest of the world probably hasn't even heard of it or thinks it's somewhere in the Middle East or something. Thus, the only ones who can make a good enough, detailed and at least somewhat accurate Balkan mod (which reminds me I forgot about another very promising WIP - The Great Conflicts) are the Balkaners themselves. And let's just say that our resources usually aren't too high on our own, while cooperation between Balkaners can still be a bit tricky (though I've seen some pretty great examples lately).
Of course, that doesn't mean that there aren't other mods which cover f.e. the whole of Europe and include some Balkan factions. From the released ones, The Sicilian Vespers comes to mind, though I'm sure there are many others, released and WIPs.

Isn't Balkans part of so called central-eastern Europe? So maybe you could search it here also http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=144354

That is close enough I think. The Ottoman conflict poured to the gates of central europe and Poland, Russian and the Hapsburgs eventually all got drawn into the conflict.

To be honest you would even need to include Asia Minor into the theatre. You would also need an event where Timur the Lame erupts on the scene.

I will post in that thread so perhaps some of my input might be helpful.
