Nope, never in a million years. The commonwealth is ever less important, and will fade away

Why not? It looks OK to me. It is never bad to improve economically.

But this is not about looking to Britain - it's about forming a union of equals where no single nation of the four core countries dominates the others politically.

The Commonwealth has always been about preserving UK influence in it's declining empire.

But they have no need to form a union with each other. The Canadians have the US, Britain has the EU, Australia and New zealand have a choice of China or America. It won't massively beneffit any of them to pursue a union with each other. Plus the popular opinion, certainly in Australia, to not have to be bound to the British in any respect

Where are the common interests between those nations? They are geographically, demographically and today historically so widely separated that finding grounds for functioning union are slim to none.

Just speaking English does not qualify for common interests.

Canada is tightly tied to USA for it's economy. UK is tied up with EU.
Australia and New Zealand sail on their own off at the opposite side of globe.

They just can't form union without ruining their existing attachments and that would ruin their economy.

Who here thinks UK, Australia and NZ could replace USA as primary partner of Canada?
Or who thinks Canada, Australia and NZ could replace EU for UK?

    Seriously people...

Sure, I don't might a stronger Commonwealth link which allows more mobility of Commonwealth citizens between member countries, as well as better job opportunities and permanent resident status. Beyond that though seems to be grasping at something the organization cannot be.

I'm against any alliance called CANZUK. Sounds like the noise you make when you get hit in the crotch with a tennis ball...
