Im trying this mod for the first time and i must add that so far i think its great. How ever i do have a probelm that i cannont solve by myself. I have searched and read in the subs mods regarding my issue but still not yet worked it out.


I cannot recruit the better units i need, Example.

I place a Warcancel memeber into a castle that is advanced enough to make better units.
My Genral has Command 3, Loyaly 4, Piety 4 and does not have the Negligent trait.

Faction Zeal, when i click on a priest and hover the pointer over the region it says 100% catholic.

Im running SS 6.1

What is it im doing wrong ? I have the feeling i have missed something obvious. Sorry if im asking a stupid question.

You are using Byg Grim Reality 3 from the Tickbox selected on the 6.1 installer. You need to to go to BGR4 thread in sub mod , download Data Zip and instal. Sadly you will need to restart the campaign

Ok i downloaded the datazip and i think i installed in right, I can now recruit armoured sgts and catapults but i still cant recruit the mailed knights they just stay greyed out ? is this normal or have i not installed it right ? Im playing as England

I suggest you read the recruitment guide in the Byg's Grim Reality thread in the submods forum to get an idea of how BGR changes recruitment.

Since youre new to the mod, you might want to play without the BGR feature ticked during installation. What BGR does is it makes the game more challenging; lots of strategies and planning would be required. Another thing is that it also slows down the turn times. But hey if you like running around with stacks of militia armies and too little elites then go for it.

So yep I suggest trying out 6.1 with RR/RC ticked during installation for this would make it closer to a casual experience. After finishing the game then you can try out BGR/BYG so you can see the difference yourself.
