Icon4 How to know if your a typical RTW player.

    1. You have a bitter and twisted inferiority complex. You simply can't understand how any non-clan player could possible defeat your elite setup and tactics, of which you are certain of will win you any match-up without contest. Of course this is partially true since you have never actually been defeated in battle because as soon as things start to look bad you always rage quit without admitting defeat. You then return to the lobby and accuse your opponent of being a "ing noob" or having a "ing gay army", this somehow comforts you despite the fact that logically this would only make you look like an even poorer player of the game.

    2. But of course, there's no need to worry about being logical in your accusations to other players. You are part of a RTW clan. This instantly makes you a better and more credible player, and also if anyone dares to disagree with you then you clan mates always back you up in a lobby swearing contest. After the noob has left the lobby and the spam storm is ended you can all finally get back to what you do best, telling each other how good you are and rebuilding your bruised ego.

    3. You are totally intolerant of new players to the game. You have developed a twitch-like reflex in response to seeing the words: "what is cwb?" If fact you’re probably searching for the kick pedal_pusher button right now, but it OKAY, calm down, deep breaths now... This isn't RTW and you won't have to do the unthinkable and actually take the time out of your busy, busy day (as if..) to explain to someone in a few sentences what the cwb rule are. How absurd that someone could be playing RTW multiplayer and not know cwb rules! You were never in this situation of course, since you were born with this knowledge instilled inside of you and never had to ask anyone to tell you what the rules are.

And Yes, I do realise that I will be mortally offending 75% of viewers on this forum.

And No, I really, really don't care if I do.

    Your thoughts anyone?

    5. you think clannies will take their elite set ups against noobs
    6. you think all clannies are douchbags
    7. you never disagree with prince of macedon
    8. you think clans never help out newbies
    9. you think every clannie is cocky and thinks they are a supperior race
    10. you post a thread just because you belive the previous 1-9

Alright time for some proper omments lol.

Firstly, an elite army(sort of) can involve Thrace. For low money cwb thrace can form some of the best.

I may not be a clanny but i sometimes go up against noobs for a couple of reasons:
-Because they have pissed me off more than a noobish rage quit would
-i can't find anything else to do
I suspect some may do the same

I think what he is saying is true in some cases, but i often play clannies-sometimes i win, sometimes i lose but generally they are good players who do not rub in a loss or go crazy when they lose. I think your making a stereotype of all clannies based on a few 'noob' clans. Some of the players in this new CENTURION thing are like that.

There was a point where everyone didn't know CWB. Patience is a virtue, but its only noobs who can't deal with it. Generally i don't think the cwb point is major in mp. You said 75% of players... i think for here at least its more like 20%(?).

Being in a clan does not make you a more credible player. If your in a good one, perhaps, but you are tricking yourself if your in a clan and automatically think your better. Here i agree with you, but most of the clans you generally see aren't like that. I think your mistaking the arguments you see in mp for something elese and not what they are.

I don't think you have offended that many people-yes your picking on clans, perhaps you have had some bad experiences but we are all entitled to our opinions. If i may say so, i think, esso, that you are finding insult where there is none

    Just my thoughts.

Im not finding insult where there is none he is litterally slamming every clannie out there but its fine.
And yes i comepletely agree with you that just because there are some fancy letters in front of your name you are automatically cool. Believe me id much rather play with a newbie than with someone who has a name like []GOD[]Boss-learder because i know it is a one man clan.

I'll take your word for it but when you wrote that it seemed like a little anger was coming accross. Yes you have a point, he is making a poor stereotype of all clans probably based on a minor few one man, noob clans but that is human nature. Its the kind of things most of us do all the time.

Incidentally i got invites to 2 clans today...anyone know anything about Vermis or Paladin?

To be honest, these are all incorrect (not you Esso, you are correct).
They are not intolerant of new players, just those who do not use their common sense and listen.
If someone creates a thread on this forum asking just what CWB is, then they deserve to do it so they can read and use the search function, or look at the stickies.
I can only see someone being called a noob if they break the rules if someone loses, otherwise it just makes you look sore.

I think you should get proffesional help. with proffesional i mean go to a brothel and get laid. you might want to consider taking off your furry suit to avoid scaring off the prozzies.

There are extremist clanless, and extremist clanless. they are both s. a third category would be POM fanboys. They will hunt you down if you know anyone he doesnt like. they are fun to hunt.
generally most clannies will treat newbies nicely unless they act like noobs, because if they act like noobs, they aren't newbies.
one example is the guy that picked thrace in a 2v2, rushed ma greek army with bastarnae, and then lost 900 men without getting more than 50 kills. he then continuously insulted me troughout the game, and afterwards called me a spartan spammer, which entailed that his brain was too small to differentiate a spartan from a gold gold armored hoplite(as i had no spartans).
he then demanded a 1v1, and i obliged after which we had one(in which he brought ele in a cwb match) and he yet again did not get more than 50 kills. he then logged off in shame. these people generally receive the treatment described in the OP, with good reason.

    ...
... which makes them look like dicks. It's sad to see how experienced players keep slagging off new people to the forums, making them feel very unwelcome ("use the search, NOOOOOOOOOB"). If they'd use all that raging energy to simply answer the question, they'd lose less time. Unless of course the objective is to maintain their sad little exclusive club.

Dont join their leaders are white suppremacists

And yes I was a bit angry when i wrote that but there is a pretty good reason in my oppinion.

In my oppinion this thread should be closed simply because this isn't actually a thread its a guy bashing on clan members

Well technically my friend this is a thread-it is physially here but i do see where your going with this.

If he wants to voice his opinion, that is fine with me, i can see no problem with this thread-even if he is wrong, it is up to us to show him otherwise.

And how do you know they are white supremists(spelling?)?

@roam: if you are gonna join any clan make sure it's Sith, HoS, LoA, KoA, TAOW, GoTW, SoR, TWR, HELL and Imperators (just to name a few). All those other clans are just lobby spammers and trashtalkers.

Also i agree with Esso and roam, this OP is just stereotyping clannies, probably based on experiences with noob clans (which i can understand). I am not cocky in my battles, i always give tips to newbies (not to be confused with noob), i always explain the rules and i am very nice to my opponents, even if they brake rules i still play, because honestly rule brakers rarely ever win lol. Just because i'm in a clan i don't expect to win (i know the battle can go either way) but i have fun in my matches, to me that's what matters.

I too agree - this is definitely an insult on clannies, but then again you can as some already pointed
out, read between the lines and A) not feel insulted because you're definitely not one of the persons
he meant to hit (between the lines) or B) as he mentioned at the end of the post, show him the other
kind of clannies, whose he seems not having met yet.

And because this was a long piece of sentence i will put option C seperated: simply ignore him

Yes Zeke indeed the OP is utter fail but i guess we should just ignore what these campaign players say, they should stick to the General Discussion section.

Well that was interesting. Props to roam for being the only person not get his panties in a bunch over nothing. Quite simply, the purpose of the post was to highlight the poor manners of the majority of the RTW online gaming community. Incidentally then, it does also point insult toward clans whose members are poor mannered and of the "typical RTW player" stereotype that I was discussing but it is in no way derogatory to all RTW clans.

Why did I start this thread? The reason is this: Poor mannered clan members tend to give out alot more abuse than they get back. They can flame new players to the game all day and never seem to get there just desserts for doing so. I just wanted to address this balance with some well aimed hate in their direction.

PS: Oh and to SithCount_Max, thanks for taking the time to correct my spelling. Since you're insisting in being so anal about it allow me to retort my adding that in England we spell words differently to all you grammatical heathens in America, in particular we often use an 's' where you would use a 'z'. Since you've taken the time to meticulously pick through my post in an attempt to find any flaws so that you could discredit it, it would seem that my post seems to have offended you somehow... oh well.

EDIT: props out to Delvecchio aswell.

indeed it offends me. i only treat noobs bad when they start it. if you post such an article about all clannies then naturally you are insulting every one in one. i understand that some noob clans may have given you a trauma but didn't the idea occur to you to limit your ranting to the people that did that to you? this stereotyping does not have a solid factual base, nor is it in any way useful to the community at large. Also do you people ever look at yourselves? do you know how many rude, obnoxious players i have seen in my 4 years in this game? did you really think that arrogance and insulting jargon is limited to clan players?
i get from dumbasses that cant handle losing on a game so much that there were actually moments where i did research on whether it was possible to declare a rtw clanwar on a public forum. All the that new people get from us, we get from other noobs.

you are just going to hope that the clanmembers you are talking to aren't dickwads. If you cant accept that there are people out there who are genuine s you have a serious problem. especially after the recent Mirariel incident. the latter did not amuse the clans at all. indeed, the thought that someone would pretend to be a new guy in order to get clanmembers to use much weaker armies than usual(since there couldn't possibly be much resistance) so they could get a video on youtube caused a brand new wave of hate towards people they did not know.

My first statement still stands. there are extremist clan members, and there are extremist clanless. you are a part of the latter, and what you posted will give a lot of extremist clannies another reason to dislike new players. in short your hate fuels our hate, and vice versa. there is no way out of that vicious circle and it has been going on for years and years. just be like me and only retaliate instead of starting arguments.

No "new" players ever get slagged off for asking a question. They get slagged off for coming on the MP forum, and making ludicrous statements, which piss off the experienced players, because they have played the game long enough to know what's right or wrong. If you've played the game for at least 5 months and see people writing "Praetorians beat Cataphracts" or "Armenia sucks", that will just piss you off.
