What do you think of the balance in TATW?
I would like if the bad factions would really overrun the good ones. It could be really fun to sit in Eriador seeing that one ally after the other is destroyed. What do you think?
The bad faction should become much stronger
The bad factions should be only a bit stronger than the good
The factions should be totally balanced
The good factions should become stronger

Funny as long as you play Gondor.... If you play let say Dale and Gondor for example is destroyed then you are in deep s***t when Mordor will turn against you because you have no chance to defeat Mordor with Dale units. That is the horrible truth my friend...
For me the balance of power today is fine; most of the time Isengard wipe Rohan out (except when i send help to Rohan or play Rohan) and Mordor + Harad mostly eradicate Gondor if you don't play Gondor or help it...
I can't find the answer. I think the mod is very well balanced as it is.

I was thinking the same..
So my answer is: "the factions are well balanced. keep them as it is"
Balance is pretty good (vanilla VH/VH), since you never know who's going to survive in your campaign. Sometimes Rohan kicks Isengards ass, sometimes its opposite. Same thing with Mordor and Gondor, and so on.. It always leads to it that your actions will have huge impact in Middle-earths happenings. I like it when not single campaign isn't predictableAnd Evil-factions are usually a bit more "winning", which is how it should be.
Only thing I don't like, when my "Allies" and me take upperhand against our foes. Campaign gets kinda boring if there is only, for example, Harad and Mordor left fighting against everybody else ( I usually don't attack my allies), but this doesn't happen everytime, and its a good thing.
Faction balance right now is pretty good, game results are very variable with probably a bit of bias towards evil.
That's what everyone tells me. Except in most of the games I start, Evil Factions pick up steam and turn into an insurmountable title wave....I find myself always rushing the board as a good faction to see if I can get there in order to help Forest Elves, Rohan, & Gondor before they get chucked like a bad penny....

i think tatw is already balanced
Thread is not about "is TATW balanced" but "how should TATW should be balanced
I think side who player is not should win in long-term at least if player do nothing.
Or perhaps it could be if you take easy: players side win, medium: it's equal, hard: other side wins in end, very hard: other side is over running. Of course this would take lots of scripting and balancing but I can hope right.![]()
