    Default BETA TESTING RULES

Yes I know we've got a thread on this already, but it seems to be ignored. 3 things are all we're asking for campaigns.

    1) Play with Fog of War off (in the preferences.txt file for the mod folder you are using)

    2) Play on H/H

    3) Take and post screenshots regularly - your empire, what's happening around you in the world at large, armies you fight, settlements you capture, settlements you don't

Just a short question. If I start a seleucid campaign, witch is harder than some other.....should I start it on H/H or with easier difficulty?

I would say start on H/H and see how you go......it's up to you to let us know how much it needs tweaking (if at all). The idea is that it should be challenging.

Usually the way with the Seleucids is to allow lose some of your starting settlements. Hopefully then you'll find you have enough income from your core settlements. Let's see shall we?

I will wait till DVK or Alavaria boost the seleucids income,as loosing 30.000 a turn gives me no chance.I think the seleucids should start at loosing cash very slightly or maybe gaining a bit,not loosing, since the player is almost forced to abandon settlements(or he loses it anyway).Than I will start on H/H.

Before I do post screenies, the FRAP only lets me take pictures only at another format rather then JPEG. Then I have to converrt the files, which take so long to do. What alternative can i use thats free?

The free version of Fraps allows you to save images as BMP format. You can then use a 'host' to hold the image and then post the codes into a post.

Photobucket is free andcan be used (www.photobucket.com) as can imageshack (www.imageshack.us).

I use photobucket for all but the full sized images as it allows me to organize the pictures into albums (so they can be found).

Other software that can be used for screens is Howie's Screen Capture: http://howie-s-quick-screen-capture.findmysoft.com/

I loaded it up to photobucket (it seemed to take a long time but that may not be the case).

I'd suggest downloading DDS Converter which allows bulk image conversion (or another free bulk image converter like BIMP Lite).....you can then convert all your images from .bmp to .jpg and save on uploading times.

    Hey,

Concerning the seleucids i should have some sort of update for the seleucids, but what i have found is the best way to play the game is to loose all of you mid eastern settlements and just keep the ones lying on the coast of the mediterranean as i was loosing 30k a turn until i destoryed my troops and lost them and then you can start to gain some denari and then finally start to expand, the key is to keep the money rolling in as everything in this game relies on a fragile triangle consisting.....of money, men, and public happiness any of them start to slip the rest dooo. And in the seleucids case it is even more fragile, however i found that the ptolemics were quite easy to trapple but going off how it has turned out so far i think if you made it hard to trample the ptolemics then it would be nearly impossible to expand. As i said i will make a report looking more closely into each hopefully over the weekend if i find the time, juggling personal and college stuff.

Havent done much for a while sorry for that but should get some reports done especially over christmas with much more free time.

@torzsoktamas i think the whole loosing of 30k maybe a bit drasticc however the empire of the seleucids is fragile right now and is in need of a strong leader, quite frankly it needs a strong player to get through it. What i am trying to say is it is make or break time, which i think the team has done quite well, as someone who is capable could make the seleucids the biggest power on earth at the present time, someone who doesnt will let it crumble. If you want to know whether you can play the game seleucids are one of the few factions only certain and good players will be able to play successfully. If they make all the factions easy then there would be no challenge for any of the stronger players, as quite frankly right now i can expand and take land and do very well with many of the factions i have tried, which in some cases is good and in others quite disappointing, so i am glad the game has such a faction as the seleucid where it is a struggle to get strong. Well done team i say!

Beast Within: DVK made a little change to the seleucids. Now on the Play_Seleucid the player starts with 10.000 money. He has a -8000 or worse income,so the challange remained, even if it is a bit easyer.I abandoned all of my settlements in the east and keeped just the ones on the mediteranean coast and the mezopotamian ones.Cash now comes, atleast enough what I need, and the Ptolemaics are starting to fall, but still look quite strong.

Hmm sounds good then looks very similar to my campaign, just not as extreme amounts of money but the difference is the same. looks like i should start a new campaign to play with those new changes.
