    Default Making a Gondor city

    I was browsing on the internet and I found an images of a medieval mod ( I doint know the name of the mod , it was made in 2008) and there was an medieval city where the building had a differt colour then normal, the roof where darkred en the bricks yellow. So i was thinking, can it be posible to make de Condor City with blue roofs and grey-white bricks?

    I think that it is possible, yes, it was made a bit, some buildings were made more white....but i don't know how much work and how time consumign it would be to make blue roofs and so on...

    It would be very time consuming. It would probably cost Kong and the rest of the devs hundreds of man hours worth of work. CA didn't make the building code easily moddable and Kong and the team will have to tear it apart forcefully. There are several data files, many picture files, and at least a few scripts that need to be modded to make it all come true. You'll get your custom cities, just not before 2.0 thats for sure. Now that I think about it 2.0's major alluring feature will probably be the reworked cities.

    I am almost sure they wont be
    for 2.0 reworked eriador will paly a much more important role....and i bet there won't be custom settlements in the near future, not even in the middle future...

    Well dont Condor birds like to live in North America? so I doubt middle earth would be able to support them. But to make a Condor city? damn you need alot of trees and nests, Plus a river nearby for them to get food from. Its unlikly you will be able to make a Condor city but its possible with alot of Condors..

    Seriously. If everyone would stop being a grammar nazi , and actually decided to try and help, rather than attempting to be funny, and needlessly posting, you'd understand exactly what he was asking.

    As to your question, you're able to change the colours of the particular buildings, but as yet, I don't think it's known whether you can actually modify what battle map shows up. So, while you can create the map of Minas Tirith, by making new buildings, and the like, you can't force the City to show up on the Battle Map from the Campaign.

    I am sorry, I didn't mean to be harsh. You are right on this. This was not my intention though. I meant it is a very good idea, and I would be happy to see it implemented.

    Since TATW is freeware, and there is no professional team behind it, we, the community, should try to be on hand of the changes by particiapting actively -and not only in terms of modding, but also testing and feedback.

    I think the buildings textures can be changed but the buildings models are still far from being remodeled. I believe the thread author is referring only to new textures for buildings and not new 3d models. I believe I saw some mod where they use different colours for buildings. Maybe it would be cool to have some new textures for gondorian buildings. I think it is possible.

    I am sorry, I didn't imply the slightest hint against KK's abilities. KK is only one person though, so the amount of work he can deliver is limited to his and his team’s genius.

    Let alone KK has also a job and a family (I suppose?), so his work is restricted by his freetime.

    It is different to have a steadily paid and insured job to working for your hobby... and this why I suggested we should try our best to help him.

    Still, since different cities have different cultures (I don't know how many cultures are in the game) all you have to do is recolor it and set it as the gondor culture.
