Whats the best sub mod to use with SS?
RR/RC Oct 30th Compilation by Point Blank. It includes 6.2 patch, Crimson Tide, a few roster remakes that make the game experience that much more interesting and immerse.. here's a link.

thanks for that
is there any other good mods out there?
Can you people stop with RR/RC and crimson etc... Not every one likes that mod, in fact lot's of people hate it. I can find a good sub-mod for SS without that
. Not only that is hard is very unrealistic and crappy. It's a game, let me enjoy it please. Almost every moder here discriminates when they include that. Yes we whant realism but not that kind o "realism", it is not that "interesting and immerse" for me. Every person plays the game in his own whay and all I hear is "RR/RC is the best, you need to have RR/RC instaled, etc" I like the AOR system but you can't find one without RR or some kind of similar mod; how is that fair?
Please escuse my english, I'm not verry good at it, and please escuse me if I ofended you or everyone else!
"Lots of people hate it" then "all i hear is"
Kinda contradictory
Honestly, everybody recommends it because they all think its the best. I really dont know anybody who hates it. RR/RC seems really realistic with the research PB has done on ranged weapons and everything, so I dont know what you mean by not wanting that kind of realism. Tell me, what makes it "unrealistic and crappy"? Its not fair that you only want one part of RR/RC and you cant get it? You cant get it without RR because it was made by PB for RR iirc. And... you are saying that it is a bad thing to suggest submod, when the OP was asking for it.
Im not offended or hating on you or anything, but I just didnt like thetalking and lack of logic in that post.
Back on topic, I also suggest RR/RC possibly with BGR, because it balances everything out, and adds a lot of content to it. I honestly cant play without it. Also, it seems to be RR/RC that is keeping SS updated, while KK is working on TATW.
Also, there are other good submods, but pretty much all of the quality ones have been implemented into SS or can be. If you dont want RR/RC, try the very huge unit sizes & unit speed mod
Well, in honesty, many things make it unrealistic... since every turn spans like, two years, and your armies move such a small amount each time, it's completely ahistorical how far they're really moving.
Other things such as the Bulgarian Uprising and Venetian Crusade also make it unrealistic. For the Bulgarian Uprising, even if you are keeping your settlements happy, it will still happen. Therefore, a populace that is happy is rising up against you.For the Venetian Crusade, you are warned that there are ships sailing up the canal to Constantinople, yet they aren't actually there. So if I wanted to despatch a large navy to sink the ships, which is what I would do if they were sailing to me, I couldn't. That's unrealistic.
If you are making the argument that it is realistic because those things actually happened in the real world, that argument is negated, because the minute you begin turn 2 you have already significantly altered the events of actual history. It would be realistic if you were given an option to just "quell the uprising", and it would cost X amount of money, or to "despatch navy to deal with Venetian navy", and it too would cost X amount of money.
"There must be a positive Passion for the public good, the public Interest, Honor, Power, and Glory, established in the Minds of the People, or there can be no Republican Government, nor any real Liberty. And this public Passion must be Superior to all private Passions. Men must be ready, they must pride themselves, and be happy to sacrifice their private Pleasures, Passions, and Interests, nay their private Friendships and dearest connections, when they Stand in Competition with the Rights of society." - John Adams
Those are issues with the M2TW engine, not RR/RC, unless you want to go to 4 or 12 turns per year. In fact 2 years per turn probably gives the most realistic overall representation of medieval warfare, where major battles were few and far between.
Questions about submods should be asked in the submods forum.
I suggest you look through the submods forum and see which ones interest you.
And I'll probably agree with that though it's completely up to personal taste. Somep eople won't like the fact that you have to wait to recruit the better units.
RR/RC is the best and you should definitely have it installed.
