Is it possible to edit a text file to give his body guard a better chance against cavalry? Im kinda annoyed that he gets run over if i take my eye off him :p Maybe 2 HP if they dont already have it

Um... The last time I checked, William Wallace spawns with several Pike Units in his army. You know what Pikes are used for, right?
I'm currently playing as England, and after hammering the Scots the Pope went medieval on my ass and booted me out of the God club. Next thing I know, I have dirty foreigners landing on my shores from wierd and far-flung countries. - Sargon_of_Akkad
You can edit the edu to give the highland nobles 2hp, but that'll give all highland nobles units 2hp not just his bodyguard.
You can always edit the campaign script to give him a unit of normal general's bodyguards instead. Just put the bodyguard as the first unit in the stack he spawns with and it'll be his bodyguard.
He'll still end up hung, drawn and quartered. Its his destiny.

Sorry to derail but speaking of emerging generals, does anyone know if Saladin ever emerges or no? (6.2 RC/RR)
Oh wow! I'm sure someone has already thought of this, and there's a reason for why it hasn't been done, but wouldn't it be awesome if each Faction had an emergent General, some with Kindoms-style special abilities (that actually work) and others with excellent armies? They wouldn't even need to be Generals in the usual sense - look at William Wallace - and could be a single 9 Chevron Faction-specific unit. I would love to see Jean d'Arc spawn for France and Vlad Tepes III for Hungary with +Command against English and Turks respectively. Some Factions could even start with one, say Olaf III of Norway with that morale decreasing ability.
I've never seen Kingdoms-style Saladin and there's definitely no event message as there is with Big Bill. I THINK I saw him once but he was just a regular General.

I'm pretty sure those abilities are hard coded, and can't be modded
Well that can be done, it's not too hard.and others with excellent armies? They wouldn't even need to be Generals in the usual sense - look at William Wallace - and could be a single 9 Chevron Faction-specific unit.
Would be nice, yesI would love to see Jean d'Arc spawn for France and Vlad Tepes III for Hungary with +Command against English and Turks respectively.
Well Wallace only spawns when AI Scotland has only 1 or 2 regions left. Some Factions could even start with one
You mean dread?say Olaf III of Norway with that morale decreasing ability.
There is a random change a recruited/born guy gets his name if it's on the list.I've never seen Kingdoms-style Saladin and there's definitely no event message as there is with Big Bill. I THINK I saw him once but he was just a regular General.

No, I thought it was one of the abilities in Kingdoms. After looking at the manual I realise I was thinking of Byzantine Politics which causes in-fighting amongst enemy troops.
Since you can mod the files to allow Trebuchets to fire bananas (or was that a console command?), surely you can mod them to do other things like reduce enemy Morale.

So there is no way of keeping William Wallace with his highland noble bodyguard but giving them, and only that highland noble unit 2 HP?
Fireing banana's is just adding a new projectile (with new model and skin, of course) but new abilities for generals would be very different. I think they are attached to the "special" generals bodyguard units those guys have.

The Holy Banana of Jerusalem
Link not only shows the super_banana ammunition type and how to get it in the Crusades campaign, it also mentions editing Hero Abilities.
It's already present in the files so isn't really a mod as all you're doing is activating it - no skinning or modeling required.
That was the only link I could find, however I am sure there is a simpler way of doing it because I am fairly certain I tried it out myself, using a Trebuchet (and got the Special Ability icon of a banana after the Explosive Ammo and Cow icons), and I only do something if it's quick and simple. I've also never unpacked.
