    Default Conversation with a Pasdarian

    http://forums.military.com/eve/forum...#9130005932001

I know we're not supposed to advertise other forums, but a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps describes what he does off duty and talks of his view of Iran and the Taliban.

A different view of an organization that makes the news all the time.

Also, the thread reminds me of the meeting between veterans of both sides of wars, like what happens in Vietnam between Americans and NVA and what happens between former German soldiers and former Allied soldiers at times.

Since when is the USA at war with Iran?
    Interesting nonetheless.

There is a cold war between the US and Iran for some time, along with a few military engagements. There was a proxy war in Iraq and according to the US military a fair number of American soldiers were killed by Iranian equipment. And the US has at times supported anti-government groups in Iran.

This comic is very interesting coming from a Pasdaran.

My friend has a cousin in the US military, and he said that his cousin has been on secret missions in Iran loads of times. Yeah, quite a few Iranians I know drink and smoke just like anybody else. Some of the people in that picture and the photos he provided are paler than some people in the West, it's quite suprising

Actually It's not. Persians are at the origin of the Indo-European genotype (a.k.a. "white people"). The're Aryans - the term itself is proto-persian. There are many minorities in Iran, therefore mixity & some more tan skinned people.

@ OP: It's Pasdaran not Pasdarian.

"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Na, what US should do now is simply accepting Iran as it is now, instead seeking revenge for some defeat 30 years ago; it would be much more fun if let Iran and Russia killing eachothers.

my cousin was a helicopter pilot for the Navy, says he flew couple of missions into North Korea, both were to drop off SEALs.

on topic: my aunt married a Persian man and there are several members of his family who are quite pale, mostly the women though.

Well, Hitler declared Persians were part of Aryan race, so I would not be too surprised to meet some blue-eyes Iranians.

Its interesting to realize that the people on both sides are human beings and not some caricatures.

All westerners, particularly Americans, have this distorted view of people anywhere outside this country, especially if they are unfriendly to the US government. Good examples are the former USSR, Iran, and many Arab countries. You think that it’s a bunch of people dressed in the same uniform that walk around all day hating you, and thinking of ways to kill you. I mean, I know that the disgusting media here plays a large role, and distorts EVERYTHING but come on, ive never seen more IGNORANT people. You have to remember that GOVERNMENT and PEOPLE are two different things. Also what annoys me is when something political is being discussed, and the country is referred to, not the leaders. For example, RUSSIA will not sign so and so agreement. Why not say PUTIN or THE GOVERNMENT of Russia will not sign so and so agreement? When it is said in the former way, it automatically personifies the country. Subconsciously for the person listening the picture formed in their mind is of the whole country, and by extension the society and people, etc. but when said in the latter sense the picture formed is different. That’s just how our minds work, especially when this is repeatedly done, and not just with Russia, this is with any nation. I live in New York so it’s not as bad here because the city is full of immigrants, but if you go to the REAL America, it’s unbelievable. They would put you in a zoo if they could. You forget that there are the same PEOPLE in other countries just like YOU; they all have two arms, and legs, eyes, ears, hair, hearts, minds, etc. Let’s not even begin to talk about the KIDS who don’t know . Honestly, I feel so sad that this country is going to . I consider it the biggest accomplishment of the human race, as well as its biggest failure.

As a Russian (or whatever former Soviet country), you should certainly know a lot more about how things change from region to region in a large country and how diverse such large nations really are.

Wow, let's not go that far. Norwegians have a majority of blond people (a unique case in the world BTW) & persians are not blonds. In fact the germanic sub-group is a mix between indo-european & proto-european (or finno-ugrian) probably made during prehistoric times. Neanderthal genes may be involded but that's controversial.
Yes, 3rd reich nostalgics, "germanics" are a racial mix too, forget "pure blood" lies.

Anyway. I don't want to turn the thread about race issues again, so let's quit that (or PM me). Last: please do not generalize on "All Westerners" or "All Americans". People are people... even if we're conditioned by our culture we're not (all) mentally enslaved & brainwashed, and thanks to western freedoms for that. After all a part of my mom's family fled from the East to get refuge & freedom in the West. See?

@ hellheaven: actually blue or green eyed persians are quite common in Iran, Afghanistan, Kurdistan etc. Remember the very famous photograph of that Afghan young girl with stunning green eyes who became a symbol of all refugees?

@ srwitt: wrong. The Iranian people, mostly in urban areas, have no hatred for the american people. They even tend to copy your lifestyle. Don't believe the hypocrisy of the regime. Nevins must be right.

@ dogukan: good one. BTW Tom Cruise is a freaky jerk, I can't stand this... can't find a term without "wubs".

That's a pretty ****ing huge generalization. And equally incorrect.
