I think it's about how god loves everyone, but I dunno, perhaps the metaphor's too deep for me.

    Damn hippies.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
"I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof."

This song is about hating those that are different from us, safe in the knowledge that god is loving them enough to make up for it.

You can tell because he singled out the killers (lumped them in with the atheists too lol) for gods love.

It's a great example of how to propagate hate towards atheists with a message about gods love. (if only the song was more catchy )

God damn. I needed to watch a beheading after that crap just to balance myself back out.
The scribes on all the people shove
And bawl allegiance to the state,
But they who love the greater love
Lay down their life; they do not hate

A dog also gives you unconditional love and dog is God spelt backwards. So there you have your connection.

I'd argue that we aren't all the same. Our cultures and backgrounds make us very different.

Well we are the same becuase we are all humans, nothing can change that. My blood is red and so is my neighbour. We all have a heart and a brain. Cultural and different backgrounds does not change much in my opinion.

    New age liberal

The fact is, we are all influenced by our surroundings and our past. Our entire body is outfitted to resist what our ancestors resisted. Not only appearances change in that process. Thought does as well.

I think it's correct but people aren't going to care enough to respect people they think are lesser intelligent or otherwise lesser beings because of their belief.

Well im not talking about beeing identical im saying "the same" as that we are all humans and should therefor look to our similarities and try to respect each other instead of hating. If more people would focus on what they have incomon instead of focus on the differenses i think the world would be a better place!

The world would also be a better place if we were to accept each others differences as individuals within different cultures as well. Saying everyone is the same is kind of going down the road to Communism.

If we can accept that we all have something in common then we can probably accept our differenses.

We are all the same in the sense that we are humans.

The fact that we are human is why we can not accept many of the differences

We're all not the same, some of us are taller, different pitch voice, run faster. Because if not, that's like saying we're clones..

Where's the diversity my left leaning friends? (yet the same time we're all one and the same, go figure).

You sir, is totally missing my point. Im not saying that everyone looks just like the the next one. What im saying is that we are all as much humans, nothing changes that, and for that reason we should be more caring and have more understanding for each other and our differenses.

Would it matter if not everyone were human? Thinking ahead to the more distant future.
not sure what you mean by that answer, do you mean that if there were aliens living here openely?
