    Default Over the sea

It is just idea what yesterday came in my mind. I even do not now is it good, so I would like to here your responses and additons!

We all know that I vanilla Miedeval in late game the new world was found in the west, and we all know that in west of Tolkiens world lays elven lands. I suggest to consider (not to make) additon of these lands in the game. For example when Mordor conquers Gray Havens and the last chance for elves to leave is gone, Sauron probably would turn his look to farther lands. Where last and strongest of his enemies are living in peace. The ships which are able to cros the sea could be able only in late periods for Mordor and mabe from beginig for High Elves, as they traveled that course quiet often.

If this were to be implemented, I would only have a very small part of the land able to be discovered.

And don't forget, the devs are very busy with other things ( I think ) so something big like this would be a bit too overwhelming.

That's why I say this is place for considering this idea, no for screaming "we need it"! I am very excieted about new Eriador for example, and I can only imagine how much work it asks from DG.

Aman was no longer on Middle-earth (only reachable by the Elves via a special route), and even if it was, the same thing would happen to Sauron's fleets as Numenors.

Spot on. The Valar may have kept out of the Middle-Earth troubles (mostly) but they would get righteous on an invasion force. Sauron wouldn't do it even if he could.

Shame though. I like the idea. How about an expedition to explore and exploit the Eastern continent instead?

I would like more when an Elven army with a Noldor king lands in Middle earth when Sauron owns whole middle earth.

yeah, that's good. but shouldn't this elfen army also consist of valar (units)?
Since Gandalf was a valar, I think, unless you want to really implement the use of magics in the game,
one should leave it as it is.
Morover Valar troops should be really overpowering and looking brilliantly.
More hard work for the modders, besides I think we don't even have some pictures or even ideas what they look like in the books or movie.

So, I'd say: nice idea to pepper evil-faction lategames. since they start strong and in the west, a last and furious war with special aman armies would really be a fascinating perspective. But despite of all this, it's too much work for a relatively seldom appearing, but special outcome.
    but great idea, again!!

    Gandalf was no Valar.

And I don't think there would be something like 'Valar' troops. The troops the Valar used in their war against Melkor/Morgoth were probably not completely different from the elves that live in Middle-Earth.

Oh, and I think it's not a good idea, like someone said before: the same would happen with the ships of Sauron, as what happened with the ships of the Numenor.

I'm sorry but I think, that's bad idea, as long as that would be Third Age, Different if someone decide to do First Age !
Guys START reading books - Silmarilion !!!
Gandalf was not a Valar ! Gandalf was Majar, like Sauron.
All Valars was able to destroy factions and change lands ! - that happens at the end of the first age.
Sauron was so powerfull because Melkor aka Morgoth, gave him part of his power (just a small one).
Morgoth create as well (by giving part of his powers) first Dragon Glaurung, werewolf of Annkabad, Balrogs and a lot od different creatures, like first spider ( I can't remember name right now)
And with this spider stole 3 Silmarilies - 3 jewels - each one 1000 times more powerfull then the One Ring - even Valars wished to have them. That how start first war and Noldor with Feanor (King of Noldors - in my opinion able to kill Sauron with closed eyes) decide to leave safe West Lands and take back their Jewels.
That was age of Elves. from the light of those jewel ( made by Feanor) Valars did sun and moon....
Feanor made as well -7 palantirs, 5 wands of Sorcerers and more more more things

So - guys, go for Silmarilion and try to imagin weak majar Sauron trying reach land of Valars...
The most powerfull being on Varda... They will put shoes and kill him like a cockroach

But That would be interestin if instaed go for unreachable West try to research about East part of the middle earth and add some powerfull factions....???

Have you looked at the New Shores Submod? It looks v interesting, it expands the map eastwards and includes avari elves, eastern dwarves and numenor/harad mixed factions.

I also believe it'd be better to focus on the Eastern Sea. There's a lot of room there to discover/explore.

Yes, some time back. Last I saw it wasn't progressing. It does indeed look interesting. I meant the continent over the sea beyond those eastern realms by the way. I suppose having that continent as the "new world" in this "New Shores" submod makes more sense than having it in TATW, being much closer and in the 'right' direction.

Idea is good but we don't know if is considered good by game developer or what's their priorities.

Right, no way the Valar would allow an invasion force to land.

And Sauron would not be so foolish to invade Aman. He saw how the Numenorians were crushed by the Valar/Iluvatar and therefore would not risk to do so again.

No. The map is big enough as it is, there is no need to expand it.
