I understand that, but is it not easier just to rewrite them (that is if you want a bit of roleplay of the Great Czechization )?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Vypadalo by to asi takto: "Příteli, byl jsem s Tyršem v Berlíně a ty kůže německé se konečně naučili hrát tu Babičku pořádně. Konečně příteli, pravdu díš. Vždyť je to největší skvost mezi hrami českými."

I suppose one could put it in for a few major cities (where it was known) for variety's sake. Monti is the specialist there.

I think (understand this is my speculation and could be way off base!) Cities are good!, but since there are a number of factions already. I believe the aim is to build up to that point! you know add gameplay before you get into the "meat and potatoes" of what this mod is about! JUST MY OPION~sorry if I am wrong

not loosing the mainpath of discussion. i give a summary:
    1) some guys want to do a translation after release of the mod
    2) a idea was to build a script who change the german names of cities after capture of a non-german speaking faction into the name of these people, example: Iglau changes to Jihlava (central bohemia) or Breslau to Wroclaw (Silesia). This script would build by the translation-guys not by the 1648 team.

    3) gigantus take a point, with a warning about slow down the mod with a big script like this, also the 1648 script is without this names-change a very big guy.
And 2/3 cities in 1648 are Minor Cities, where no name-change per script is possible.

    4) So i would make a guess, already only translation without extra wishes would be a huge job, so start with the basics before other extras.

This is exactly what I meant. Just translation. If anyone needs city names in their native language, they can rename them in the camaign after they conquered them...

If there is a translation from German to English for this mod still needed, I will do it.

I´m very happy to announce that the teams of Wallenstein TW (banzai!) and XVIIth Century Mod: DMB (trashing_mad) have given their permission to use their heritage. So we use the time until our mod will release with assemble some units of this both mods.

Just quick question. How do you plan to implement Wallenstein? Will he fight for Bohemia or for the Emperor, or does it depend on the situation?

he and a handful other great generals are "heroes".
    Wallenstein fight for the Emperor.

    Bohemia gets as generals:

    Matthias von Thurn,
    Albrecht von Smiřický
    Graf Andreas Schlick
    Wenzel von Ruppa,
    Colonna von Fels
    Wilhelm von Lobkowitz

    and more historic people

    5) Units of Special: The great factions, with estates beyond the map: Poland-Lithuania, Sweden, France, Habsburg (we united the spanish and the austrian parts of the family, so the faction can fight against the rebellious netherlands and the insurgent princes) will get Spawn Aid, these are in example the mercenary units of sweden (scots, etc) or swedish core (yellow brigade, finns, etc). / middle-high class

hope this will help to imagine

the pictures showing our "all-faction" canons, canons of the secret pools (regionals, specials) of course not.

I have seen on some pictures, and on the Swedish faction symbol, that you are using the present coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden. But in those days, the Vasa family ruled Sweden, and the coat of arms looked like this:
"I came, I saw, and I didn't believe my eyes!"
