    UPDATE

Cause of another few problems, which won't be solved easily, the Mod won't release on Christmas 09. There is no new release-date. Hopefully in the first quarter of 2010.

terrible hussars, They have wings from late XVII Century, armor from early XVI Century, bad lances, boots should be yellow ehhh, they are totaly bad, I think better will be if you use Thrasing mad's Hussars

thanks for comment. but this is irrelevant. we have not the claim do to a 100% historical mod. Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth is in this war passive. it get his defeat against sweden in the beginning of 17. and in this mod, only western poland is present on the map. so it will be fast a victim of sweden, brandenburg-prussia and Habsburg-Austria. The one or two battles when a human player will meet the Hussaria at battlefield are not important.

Great idea! It's about time that finally there's a mod on this very, very interesting time span in Europe's history! But Bremen was not an Archbishopric in 1618, having been "taken over" by protestant clerics around 1570 - so just a protestant bishopric.

thanks!! we use mainly the osprey books, i see some of your pics are osprey. but some pics are very good, it would be nice if you could call the author and title of the books.

    ---

Bremen is not historic correct, we know that. it´s a question of balance.
also we take Prussia as Owner for Brandenburg, this was a voting in TWZ Community. We think a alternative history, where the Duke of Prussia had Children, and his cousin in Brandenburg not. So Hohenzollern is leaded by the Line of Königsberg

Our Mod has NO claim of historic perfection, we want to have fun and a balanced gaming. we have pools for recruitment with Units who are surely not historic, some are Hommages, some a fun. Also they have weapons and cloths of this time.

But changing "Erzbistum Bremen" into "Bistum Bremen" wouldn't shift the balance...

sure. but...who cares? 1648 is famous in the german community for it´s hotseat quality as an "german" mod, we have nearly 600 german Cities on the map. so our northern brothers and sisters will fight for Bremen, if Erzbistum or Bistum. The most Gamers not really know a different. so, if you will be happy, i will change the name. it´s a job of a second

Still, you can use (and infact you should) various already done units from XVIIth century DOminium Mars Baltici mod. It has units for Poland-Lithuania, Denmark and Sweden (including neat cuirassiers in 3/4 armour, Hakkeplitas, Musketeers, Late Polish Winged Hussars and many, many more useful units). Unfortunately, there aren't many screenshots of them, since trashing_mad 's photobucket account is no more. But there are few remaining:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    -Kunlingas Majestas Drabanter (Sweden):

    Mercenary Musketeer (Sweden)

    Swedish Arquebus Militia

    Gustav's Musketeers:

    Cuirassiers:

    Pikemen (P-L)

    Halberd Militia (Poland)

Polish Winged Hussars (they are truly impressive, but make sure that t_m will give you their models- they aren't in current version of a mod)

Polish Commander (There are also Swedish and Denmark, but I couldn't find a screenshot with them. But you have my word that they are purely awesome)

    Polish Early Era unit roster:

    XVIIth century DMB mod subforum:

Please make sure that trashing_mad will give you permission!

Hope that helped in making the right choice

I dont know, regardless of their authenticity or lack therof I think the Hussars look excellentthere is nothing wrong with a bit of reimagining for as it has been pointed out many times the Hussars outfitted themselves more often than not, therefore it is not out of the realms of possibility that we might see some variation from time to time...and this mod looks excellent all around!!!I will be greatly anticipating this!!!

So, it seems to me, the presentation on TWC, how King Kong suggest, was a good idea. Now we can analyse the leavings of Banzai!´s Wallenstein Mod and thrashing_mad´s XVIIth Mod and take a look if something will be useful for our baby.
of course, when we use something, it will be a big point in the credits for both modder, also i will write first a request for permission.

    thanks!
