Great work.. how do i +rep? i never understood how
huh.... i don't have that... but strangely i have that under my own avatar
Oh gawd, that is pretty bad Gigantus! That is a big task to do o_o
I take it theres no commercial or anything translators? I always thought there was a program one could get and it'd work better than Google or Babel Fish Alot better
Hey guys, appart from Spain I am figuring out there are plenty more new factions, do you mind publish a complete list to make the waiting more inspiring?. Sorry if already answered.
Thanks for your dedication in one of the best historical mods.
any chance of it being released today, before the weekend is over?
Why are the Nonplayable Factions non-playable? Transylvania sounds fun
I get the feeling that the Ottomans, Protestant Union, and Catholic League are emergent or your faction becomes them?
Thanks for the list, some sound new to me as Mainz, Trier and Cologne (the eclessiastical principaties I think), and Hesse, Bayreuth.
As far as I know, Ottomans are emergent and Protestant Union and Catholic League are non playable since represent the little states that cant be faction in the game but important as a whole.
That leaves Transylvania
Well nothing is ever really unplayable if its on the map at the start of the game! I'd just change the file to make Transylvania playable if they are well, able to be played
Would be pretty sweet to fight out some Vlad the Impaler stuff, he was in the 1600s, right?
Gigantus, did you abandon XCAI in the new version?
We have retained the strategic one as far as I recall, for the battle AI we had to change as we needed to adapt to the pike & musket principle which is not supported properly by the regular AI. Credit here goes to Geoffrey for his tireless effort to adapt it.
So it's a custom made AI just for the mod? How well would you personally say the AI performs? Because I've generally
dealt with the fact nearly all the total war AI, custom or not, are far from sufficient.
No, its not on the map, they are emergent.
But, Ottomans, Transylvanians, and many more are playable in the sister mod of "1648: Thirty Years of War", the "1648: The Two Towers" playing in the balkans. After release of 1648: TYoW 2.0 we will finish the already started sistermod as fast as possible.Gabriel Bethlen (de Iktár) was prince of Transylvania (1613–1629) and leader of an anti-Habsburg insurrection in the Habsburg Royal Hungary. His last armed intervention in 1626 was part of the Thirty Years' War. He led an active Protestant-oriented foreign policy.
There will never be a sufficient AI in my eyes as there are simply too many variables to be included in the coding.
We have however succeeded to a certain degree to make the AI appear to be somewhat more responsive to the army compositions of that period. I believe we managed to reduce the brain dead habit of generals to commit suicide at the very first opportunity to a rarity and other 'weird' stuff like that. Some we replaced with some lesser (and easy to manage) weirdness, others have been removed.
We are in fact looking forward to the release as that will give us a large scale feed back on that work.
Ah, no big deal about Transylvania then
Be sure to make threads for the sister mods! I mostly want to just check this site, and Infracta upset my dial up greatly And I dont think English translation matters too much as long as its playable or a full translation is in the works!
