    @ above: lol

@ post 239: how did you get so good? Thats like cheating at modding. I know! The picture has been photoshoped! Yes...

But thats really cool. So cool I gave a negative response first because I'm jealous.

Now I'm thinking of the possibilities of what else could be done.

Yes, i´m thinking the Team of TA will really enjoy it with Trebuchets on Walls of Minas Tirith to kick a troll ass

After Release of 1648 we will give some tutorials for some new things we have done in 1648.

Looking forward to this mod, always wanted a thirty years war mod (I'm Dutch so for patriotic reasons I wanted to kick some Habsburg ***). The new towers look incredible!

and I agree with you, there is possible to do everything historic accuracy to the first turn.
To the discussion about the first turn: Don't worry about an unhistorical setting. All region borders on the map are made out of historical maps, Every region has the historical owner, There are almost only historical characters in the first turn and a lot of cities have a specific building, something like a wonder.
And the other parts of the map aren't fantasy, too.
Also the most events (''Dynamic'' events and historical events) are based on historical things.
And other stuff. Don't worry about the historical feeling.

Is there going to be any historical battles?
    Sometimes after first release.

Have you found anyone who will translate it into english?
    Do you want?

Learn German. It should not be your loss.

We are not looking for translators. If someone wants to translate the mod, he should ask. We will probably hardly refuse.

This mod looks cool. Finaly I won't have to try and recreate Lutzen in For King or Country.
About the mod being German only, could you at least include a bare bones english translation such as names, abilities, and crucial game text? Since the number people who own Total War games who speak English as their primary (or strong secondary) likely outnumber those who speak german as a primary or secondary language you would likely get a larger response.

This is remarkable! Once again, you've found a way to make something work that nobody else could! I'm glad I know a reasonable amount of German!

When I there are about 2 or 3 translators and at least one native speaker I will help translating. It is a large job and I'm not a native speaker. I have many other projects, so I can not solely focus on translation. I have translated most of the unit descriptions for the Magyar mod from crappy english to english and I can read *some* german (at least enough to understand most books about history) so that doesnt need to be a problem.
I wont start on my own, but when others join in we can do it.

Sure, it includes the dutch, as Utrechter Union aka Republic of United Netherlands.

    -----

We won´t do a translation, that is not our job, we are only modder. If some guys will do it together, they can ask us and we will help, also we will watch about the correctness of translation.

I can't imagine it would be that much trouble to translate unit names, unit abilities, city/building names, building abilities, traits, and other info needed to play the game. It doesn't have to be a perfect translation but enough that I can play the game without guessing what everything does.

Ajidica, It is indeed not that much trouble, although a good translation is always tricky and german differs in important aspects from english. The trouble is in the sheer amount of translation work. Try to envision the unit info and building info, of around 8 lines each. That times 7 cultures (buildings) times 40-50 building trees, or unit info for about 300-400 units (max 500).

I have rewritten our own EDB (about 100 buildings, mostly new or at least changed) and so had to rewrite every building description. Often I was able to copy stuff for most cultures, but in a number of cases every building had its own decription and that for 3-4 buildings of the tree. The writing took me a few weeks of about 8-10 each working day, yes next to my studies I worked fulltime on only that part of the mod for weeks. That is the trouble.
