OK, so I'm sure I'm not the only one who was very keen to buy ETW because it would've been the first TW game to feature ONLINE GRAND CAMPAIGN WITH FRIENDS OR RANDOMS yes?

So, where the hell is it? I've waited all year. It's 3 weeks and 4 days till 2010. When the game's release was delayed, news broke out that they couldn't manage to release the online campaign feature but would patch it in instead. Programing wise, that's very fail. The game was obviously rushed.

Anyway, I've ignored the game since May and have only now started replaying it after downloading Patch 1.5 and downloading some awesome mods from the community such as the BSM mod (blood, smoke, no trails etc.) and sound mod (fife & drums and weaponFX giving more bass to everything) and the Period Music Mod that have really helped with immersion, how I expected the game to be on release.

Anyhow, I'm now somewhat satisfied with the game (though obviously some things are still underwhelming like lack of revolutions, no proper colonial wars & rivalries, lousy formation AI etc.) for now, but my friends and I would really just want the online campaign to complete our enjoyment for the money CA ripped us off. What's the status on it? Has CA given up on ETW? Was Patch 1.5 the last patch CA will make? No more work to be done?

The online campaign better be imminent because so is death!

I know an old mate of mine, a dad in his late 30's was gonna purchase two copies of ETW for himself and his son who's graduated high school right about now so they could play the online campaign together because they're big TW fans but since I told them the online campaign remains undelievered, well, there's a year's waiting gone down the drain, what a let down and they didn't buy the game. Some quality father-son bonding time gone and yet another 18yo unenlightened by the depth of history that goes into TW games (and doing some reading yourself).

And if they're not delivering anything for ETW anymore and completely focusing on NTW instead, will NTW feature an online campaign if so claimed? CA can forget about me pre-ordering their game this time around. A damn shame. RTW really was the epitomy of a feel good TW game. Shame on them it took modders to fix their game so people could enjoy them. It should never have come to this. You're better than this Creative Assembly, you're not Electronic Arts (EA).
