Serious Russian music is by bands like Akvarium:

I really like of all their work, but Grebenshchikov's best in my opinion is Russkiy Al'bom (The Russian Album):

God I love that song for some reason, I keep driving around with radio vladivostok on refusing missions just to hear this song, it's my favourite song in GTAIV

I like this underground rap-crew who are Russian/Germans and got one guy rapping in German and the other in Russian. They also got very original techno-style beats before everyone else started using them.

Then we also got some more civilized main-stream rap featuring Seryoga, Russia's rapper 1° as far as I understood.
