Okay, so I downloaded this mod, and I have RTW:BI on steam, AFAIK, this mod should work with a steam version of the game. But I think i'm gonna need some help with installing it, so please, if you have the time, help me out!

I guess the installation process for a steam version is the same than the regular one, but this is just an assumption. I have the disc version, so I don't really know.

I have tried installing it the same way as you would install it to the CD version, but I just get the normal rome total war game instead.
I tried again, and used the desktop Icon, and it just says "Failed to find Steam"
Right click the icon and select "properties." Next, copy the line near the bottom that looks something like "-nm -show_err -mod:IBFD".
Right click "RTW:Gold" in the Steam My Games menu. Select Properties. Click "Set Launch Options".
Paste the line into there, and run RTW. IBFD should now come up.
I have helped a few other mods with this problem, hopefully an IBFD team member would like to post this somewhere for Steam users.
Thanks, Magnum482!
I'll pass this information to the team.

Magnum's comment does work for the Alxander Expansion based mods and Regular Rome Total War based mods. However, steam does not have a applaunch ID for Barbarian Invasion. So just following Magnum's instructions won't work for INVASIO BARBARORVM since this mod is launched via Barbarian Invasion.
The link I posted above will show you how to play Barbarain Invasion mods with your steam version of the game.
Also, I have the steam version of Barbarian Invasion and I had to follow the above link to get it to work. I used method #1 rather than method #2. Method #1 isn't as hard as it looks to those of you who aren't as "computer literate" as others. Just follow all of the steps and you should be fine. Post your questions if you need more help on the steam page. I can not explain it any better than is described in the link above.
I'm sure you've heard it before, but buying the disk is much better. As for the installing, it involves alot of modifying the Steam game settings, cache files and a ton of other really boring stuff. Check around- I know in the Europa Barbarum forum there is a guide for installing their mod on steam- maybe that can help you.
Yes, you can check out the EB forum for advice, cause I'm afraid that we in the RR team have not looked into this kind of problem. I don't even have Steam.
And - like Achea wrote - it's always better to have the disc. That's my opinion.![]()
