What Graphic Card To Buy I Wonder?

I have the following so far;

Mobo: Nvidia 780a
CPU: Phenom II 3.0Ghz Quad Core
PSU: 700w Arctic
HDD: 300GB Sata
Case: ATX NZXT (Thingy)

What Graphic card should I go to add to my collection. Payday is later on today. I live in the UK so anything British is good and I should have about £130-£200 to spend depending on what I pick up from work. I'll let you know later. I'm more of an Nvidi fan but tempted by Radi's cheaper deals.

Try and suggest a good GFX and website to go with it. Nothing American or European like Newegg though as I dont want to be killed by delivery charges.

I've been playing X3 Reunion (which just eats up time) for the last couple of weeks on my just system (C2Q 2.66Ghz/8800GT/4Gb) and plays just fine at maxium settings. Is Terrain Conflict much more demanding the Reunion?

As for a video card a Radeon HD5770 is good value for money at the moment, unlike ATI's top line of cards they have actually gone down slightly in price whereas the premium cards have gone up. A Radeon HD5770 will give you performance in between the region of a HD4870/GTX260 to HD4890 however the December drivers look as if they may unlock some more performance.

Hmm, not that stressful. I'd check out 5770, 4890, or gtx275. 275 is the most powerful of those cards, but its the most expensive. The 5770 is the least powerful, but thats just in comparison to these other high end cards. It's about as powerful as a 4870, but has DX11, eyefinity, better power and heat, etc. Cheapest too. For those games I'd lean towards the 5770 or 4890. What resolution do you play at?

Well I've just bite the bullet today and ordered an Asus HD5770 1gb for myself, I really can't justify to myself the £350 price tag on a HD5870 (not to mention it's general lack of availability) as I'm moving out into my flat soon so I need all the money I've got. It should be here tomorrow so look out for photo's!

Buy the 4870 1gb its the best card for you and will max mostly any games and keep you going for along time.

I have this card and i prefer it over my gtx 285 because of driver problems atm with nvidia.

The card on the left is my old Geforce 8800GT 512Mb video card. As you can see it's a bit longer then my new one but half as fat. The reason why's it longer is because Nvidia builds it's GPU's on a much bigger die surface then ATI and the HD4770 is built using the 40nm manufacturing process whereas the 8800Gt was built on 65nm.

I have an XFX 5770 and I'd highly recommend it. Right now the performance of a 5770 is right around a 4870 I believe but like Freddie said new drivers should definitely boost the performance.

I play games like ETW and Far Cry 2, and also the Crysis demo. My 5770 handles these maxed out at 1920x1080 with no problem.

Yeah, the 5770 seems to be quite popular. Examples of it being maxed out are just making me lean to its side even more. Far Cry 2 and Crysis I hear are the most demanding games too I hear.
