Upgrade you graphic card. It will help you much in running games faster, since the one you have is pretty obsolete. Whats your power supply btw?

    A very open ended question.

    1. What is your budget?
    2. What do you want out of it?
    3. How long do you want it to last?

There is no "perfect" video card that we can recommend, it is all based on what you need and the money you have.

For your PSU, this is an excellent tool to scan your PC for specs, I am pretty sure it lists the wattage of your PSU. Did you build the machine or did it come pre built from someone like Dell? If it came from Dell or a similar company you are probably going to need to upgrade.

    I'd get a a GTX285. That'll run anything.
From there, you can upgrade the rest of your system gradually

Overclockers.co.uk (or Scan.co.uk is another good site or dabs.com) but if you can push to a Radeon HD5770 you might want to get that insted (i've just upgrade from the card you want to get to the Radeon HD5770), as for power requirements both cards are about the same and if anything the HD5770 it uses less under load and a lot less in idle.

let him have a 4770...leaving him for a future All-upgrade

Why recommend a 4770 when the 5000 series are out? I'd definitely push my budget to get a 5770, its much better than the 4770.

Well from 7500 le (light edition) to the 4770 is a huge leap. 5770 is out of his reach.

I'd go with the 5770. 100(*looks for british pounds symbol on american keyboard*) is about $160 US. The 5770 is right at that price, with the XFX version just $15 more. I have the XFX 5770 and I love it. Definitely go for that, much more powerful and future-proof than the 4770 or 9800.
