[Lucius approaches the speaking area]

"People of Rome! I come to you today as a candidate for your Praetor!"

[Lucius waits for the chatter to die down.]

"Now, if I am elected, there are several orders of business we need to take care of! As I am sure you all know, the city has been his by a major catastrophe! Snakes invade every home and business, and the water is not safe to drink! Hundreds are dead and dying from venom, poisoning, or from riots. I intend to make it my first order of business to bring order and saftey back to the city. I will organize temporary hospitals to cure the sick and wounded, and will make it a priority to open up an auxiliary route for fresh, clean water to reach the city. I will erect temporary housing areas on the Campus Martius for those whose homes have been destroyed or damaged by fire or rioting. I will pay for as much of it as possible from the confiscated funds of the traitor Pallas, whose head now sits in the Forum."

[Lucius points to the head of Pallas on a stake]

"Additionally, I will deploy small squads of Town Guard to hunt down any remaining snakes, and to bring to justice the squads of looters and killers taking advantage of the poor state in the City. I will make deals with farmers nearby to bring a reliable grain supply until the city infrastructure has been brought back up to pre-snake levels. I will allow merchants whose shops have been made unavailable to customers due to damage to set up temporary stalls in the Forum and Campus Martius. Finally, I will dedicate prayers and sacrifices to Juno, Jupiter, and Ceres to bring calm and peace back to our city. Thank you, and LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!"
