    Default Return of the Valar

The game is very easy with Mordor. Maby a bit to easy. Maby there could be some invasion included like the mongol invasion in vanilla? My idea would be the return of the valar:

When all good factions are destroyed there could be some chance that this event happens. There could appear big armies with an old Eldar army and Valar as generals.

    What do you think?

Could be interesting but Valar themselves would be overkill.

Maybe a revolt of hobbits; imagine the hordes of hobbits smashing all on their passage and leading siege on Barad Dur..... (bad joke sorry but i don't disrespect your idea; just it was a little bit crazy, so crazy am i)

Ahemmm, well like Jean-A-Luc said valar are way too powerfull and cannot be matched by mortals, so basically they would be unstoppable, so that is not a good idea..

On the othe hand, berserker hobbits would do the trick ^^

...but those hobbits not looking for plunder, just foodstuff...

Valar seem "a bit" overpowered - it's so damn hard to kill godlike creatures...

If all good factions are destroyed the player is certain a bad faction. Therefore this challange would be a challange for the player. Therefore it would be good if it is hard for the player. One good faction against a whole middle earth with bad sides? They need overpowered Valars.

Interesting idea. The Valar would be too powerful for the game, so maybe they could just send an army of Eldar to fight for them, under the command of Finarfin...

No Valar. Tolkien has a very set hierarchy in his universe and it would probably take Sauron himself along with tens of thousands of his army to take down a Valar.

Instead we should have several elite High Elven stacks (full experience, weapons upgrades) land in Lindon under the command of the High Elven King whose name escapes me. Perhaps there could be a stack of elite Godorians and Rohirrim too, to symbolize the rallying of all high and middle men for a last stand. It would be nice to have an epic final round against the most powerful forces good can muster.

EDIT: ALL FEAR THE SON OF CAIN!!!!!!

That would be Finarfin, if I'm not mistaken. High King of the Noldor back in good ol' Valinor.

Your ganna have to forgive my Lord of the Rings ignorance...but what's a Valar? And before anyone else can do it, I'll do it to myself.

On a side note to the idea. Maybe if you destroy all the good factions as evil it will trigger a scripted event called "Last free alliance" in which one or two stacks from each good faction reappear on the map and try to retake some of the land. The same could be done with the good faction destroying evil with something like "Evils last push" or something.

Yeah i like that idea of the last alliance thing again i think it would work quite well

ths sounds like a very nice suggestion the spawned armies could possibly include unique generals to spice things up. that would make players actually want too control the whiole map rather then keep creating new campaigns.

I agree 100%. I usually end up not finish campaigns because they're too easy. But if there was to be some super force of Elves with a stack or two of Men and Dwarves waiting for me towards the end of the campaign, it would give me a good reason to finish a campaign

    yeah awesome idea.

    I agree 100%

i dont remember a lot, but valar usually sent maias (gandalf etc) as their generals no? idk if valars fought before but i think they didnt unless really forced (aka morgoth was on the other side, valar vs valar)

    Thats right.

Well this need not to be valar but some "rescue campaign" be the Valar. They could sent an Elven king with an army, or a Maiar or someone else.

    BTW.:

This is not totally unrealistic, because when all humans would be under the rule of Sauron it is realistic that the Valer would do something. After all Valinor should be for the Elves and Middle earth is for the humans after their plan, but when all humand are enslaved they would do something.

Presented like this (a set of eldar armies maybe sided with free people : dwarves, sylvan elves, humans), it is a quite good idea; what will trigger this horde to appear ? (1st this must be a new faction, maybe not an issue; and they must start at war with Mordor and allied with the remaining free people if any left ?)
I think this should only happen when really all good people are enslaved, because the Valar would not help when there is any chance that the free people could manage it by themselves.

Ok so when let say Rohan, Eriador, Gondor and Dale are destroyed (all non-evil human factions), then they will pop up ?

I think it should be all good factions (also Dwarves, High and Silvian Elves). But this is more a detail which could be done in different ways. But this would be a good way to include something like the mongols in MTW. The goal is that the player tries to conquer whole middle earth with a bad faction.
