In vanilla cretans were an amazing missile force in the early game. Good attack, long range missiles and they were way better than normal archers etc and you could often get more of them! At least in my experiene...they could even compete with the later archery forces.
Anyway that was off topic and besides the point, and yeah i believe the orginal epirus area is the place you get them from. As Carthage i got bogged down in sicily and then spent quite a while subjugating irritating numidians so i haven't got muh experiene with cretans but i suspect they would be good, why you get asian war eles in greece...but they would be worth it...you could even knock down wooden wall with them!

Thanks for the answer, I was playing my Epiros campaign, and eventhough I have almost subjugated the pesky Romans, I've lost all my eliphants anf Cretan Archers, and I was just curious how I could get more

Re: cretan archers and asian elephants
I couldn't get my economy to work as Epirus first time...i don't think i had enough experience on FoE at the time tbh. I tried a 2nd time but something happened, probably a CTD(probably one that affeted vanilla as well, so not FoE's fault) after i'd played a major battle and i find out i have to fight it again. I kinda lose it when that happens...and i either cheat, because i don't see why i should fight that battle again, or just quit.
Yeah i would want to get more eles as well, however i'm a Carthiginian player so i get them anyway(with some beautiful cav..and sacred band=awesome!).
