If someone were to mod Empires to use medieval style units, would it be 'incongruent' with the AI?
I don't know a whole lot about programming or the like, but does anyone know if the AI in Empires manages units based on their abilities (i.e infantry which can use ranged and melee combat), or does it manage units based on what kind of unit they are? (i.e infantry)
Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about it, and from what I've read in dev blogs, they try to 'move on' with the AI in each game to improve it, so I'm guessing that the AI is adapted to make use of tactics appropriate to the time period of whichever Total War title it takes place in?
OR I'm giving them way too much credit, and a medieval mod would be entirely possible
I've been thinking of starting work on a LOTR mod, but I wanted it to use the engine from Empires, so I don't want to add new units and such only to find enemy archers charging my soldiers![]()
