    Default Region-Religion and the EDB

    I have recently discovered that it would seem like the region_religion condition introduced into the EDB by Kingdoms is a recruitment-only option. Can anyone else confirm this? Any time I try to tie it to something else the game boots but displays with a SMT_RELIGION_RECRUITMENT tag by the capability--not to mention no effect. Are there any other religion-pertinent conditions that will work in the EDB? Thanks, Theo

    So you want to make construction or building bonuses dependant on religious level.

    That is a brilliant idea, the happiness a church produces should work this way.

    Well, primarily, I just want to be able to only build the building at a certain religious level. But, yeah, the others are factors as well. Thanks for the rep.

    I think what was meant is that building requirements are displayed in the UI and hence that entry is required, whereas recruitment requirements are not displayed, the unit just doesn't appear in the UI. Since it is required if it isn't present, like any other missing text entry, it will cause a CTD.

    It is a simple UI element, display only.
    You obviously have set religion (a percentage thereof) as recruitment requirement. This line does not exist in the vanilla strat file (brittania only), so you have to enter it yourself.

    I think that if construction is restricted to character presence then that character may have a region religion level reflecting trait which could then be used to fire an event(s) that allow construction.

    Just modded the EDB in the brittania campaign with the region religion requirement for buildings and it gets ignored. No error messages either. So it seems to be for recruitment only.

    Yeah, that's been my experience. Are there any other religion conditions that would work with the EDB or should I give this up entirely?

    The only condition that checks for a religion percentage is: PopulationOwnReligion - but it requires a character to be in that region.
    But to link that to a certain region is a bit difficult, it might require a monitor for each region.
