After the ottomans(me) liberate Scotland, Scotland goes on to found a HUGE empire in the new world, owning over half of the regions including britains original 13 colonies.
The Greeks came up with the saying, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". But the Greeks also built the Trojan Horse. Coincidence? I think not...

    Fact 1
The little faction between France and Genoa, I forget it's name!

Conquered the french empire, all of the Denmark empire (yes, the island too), Newfoundland, a majority of new France.....

I backstabbed them since they became to powerful. But hey... they were rolling into America!

    fact 2
The Italian States, owning only Rome... then conquering the Pueblo nation? How the did they do that??

I have to say, all of the stuff you all said were hilarious
    Anyway here are my stories.

    1. Genoa becomes Hanover's Protector, the Mughals become Genoa's Protector.(AI)
    2. Sweden allies with Russia, Prussia,Sweden's Ally, attacks Russia, Sweden declares war on Russia.(AI)
    3. in 1702...
There is a pro-French alliance in the German States.(AI)
There is a pro-English alliance in the Italian States.(me)
    4. Marathas and the Mughals are at war with both France(and its allies) and Britain and Austria(and their allies)AI
    5. In 1705...
The Dutch launch a naval invasion to Flanders...from India.(AI)
    6. In 1717...
Almost All major factions have a Monarch/Minister/Stadtholder with an age below 35...all so young and inexperienced.
    7. An Anglo-Prussian War of Succession
    8. A rake who has traveled everywhere in the known world...and kills a lot, well that makes him an international serial killer.
    9. Rakes are terrified of a Gentleman who has killed more than the Rake.
    10. British Prime Minister decides to lower all taxes in the Empire, c'mon that's unbelievable...in 1720-Rule Britannia!

I hope you enjoyed the ahistorical history of the 18th Century World known as Empire:Total War

Me: Establishing Mexico as major power in the Americas and Europe by conquering all of the Spainish territory in the New World and sailing to Portugal and conquering her as well. Unfourtunately the Austrians got to Madrid first so I couldn't add her to the Mexican Empire. As for the AI the before mentioned Austrian conquest of Spain is the only major event I can think of at the moment.

You know, this is just a gift that keeps on giving (aren't they the best kind, other than cold hard cash?). In my current campaign as France, I was embroiled in something of a mess, mostly of my own doing it must be said. Was trying to bring Louisiana into the fold by conquering required provinces in North America while also dealing with Sweden and the Maratha Confederacy (which had gotten a bit out of hand). Ahem. So, there I was trying to keep my head above water and not even considering a land war in India (naval combat only at this point) when all of a sudden, in one turn, the Maratha Confederacy lands a two third stack of good quality troops at Port Royal, Jamaica. What the...? And where the heck was Errol Flynn when I needed him? My poor little garrison got munched. I was still getting over this turn of events when I went back to continue my campaign against the Iroquois only to find that they'd given Michigan Territory to the Swedish in exchange for the Estonia and Livonia region in Europe. And the best bit was that neither region had any troops protecting it as a result other than the ubiquitous armed citizenry. Thank you AI, most generous of you.

Same campaign has also seen Denmark owning a region in deepest, darkest Russia... A wise investment in the future no doubt!

In the same campaign, all AI:
    1) Maratha's sent a fleet and capture Portugal proper.
    2) Hanover allied with France against Britain.
    3) U.S. founded in Quebec instead of one of the 13 colonies.
    4) Ottomans relieves Venice of Greece, then Greece successfully emerges as new nation next turn. A free Greece in 1720.
    5) Austria owning Courland. This one is my fault. Austria demanded, and I sold to them for 2500, Courland as part of a peace treaty and to create a buffer between Russia and myself (Prussia). I took Courland back after Austria decided to renew our little war, guess they lost out on that real estate investment.

Venice expands as a monarchy all over Italy and bits of America while fighting off GB, France and Spain

The Swedes dominate the Baltic, then duke it out with GB, eventually taking Canada and east India, and causing the Irish and Scots to RISE UP.

BTW, all AI, while I sat on the sidelines quietly (with some helpful donations)

Had a few days off at Xmas. So, decided to play a campaign as Prussia. About 1730, as I waited for the AI to go through all it's turns, I noticed Anatolia turn from Ottoman crimson to pale gray. No, it wasn't rebellion. It was little old Georgia, bless em. I'd been propping them up a little bit as the Maratha's were headed that way and I wanted a patsy to hold them up, but... I may have been a little too generous with my gifts. They now control a rather large swag of the middle east. Sigh.

Quebec and Mexico were liberated and soon joined the Franco-Mughal-American coalition against the Anglo-Prusso-Maratha-Spanish-Dutch alliance. The war ended with France being conquered by the Prussians and subsequent American supported rebellion which left Prussia ruined and ripe for conquest by the rejuvinated Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Mughals, with American assistance reconquered it's starting territories, an American occupation of Bijapur, the British being kicked out of North America, Spain being driven out of Central America and the Caribbean and no gains or losses for the Dutch.

Würtenberg conquered France. Pretty cool. Würtenberg is one of Europe's main powers now (1735).

In the same game Westphalia controlled Austria. But this my doing. I was playing Ottoman and I had conquered Austria. But because of relentless attacks from Austrian allies there was no way for me to hold onto it, so I gave it to Westphalia. For political reasons. I didn't want to give it to an ally as I was planing to retake it later once I'd gathered strength.

5 weird things that had occured during my game.
1.England declares war on Ottomans and takes a few turns to get to Egypt and takes it,Ottomans retake it in 4 years.(Me)
2.A Franco-Pruso-Ruso. alliance forms and goes to war with the English-Swedish-Munghual-Martha alliance. The first one wins before splitting up and Prussia takes over all of Russia before forceing France to give all of there american lands.(AI)
    3.Austria collapse's to barvaria.
4.Sweden takes over 1/2 of america.
5.Ottomans take over all of europe and india.

I just conquered Britain as the Ottoman Empire. I gave Scotland to Prussia & gave away England to Quebec, which emerged because Britain held Upper Canada. The USA emerged too!

I did it because it was the third war for aggression Britain declared on me, I lost my patience so I didn't bribe them for peace. Their mistake!

A nice little game as Ottomans.... and....

    1. Prussia owning all of the islands in America.
    2. New Spain conquering Spain.
    3. Barbary states.... destroyed Morroco and took Spain from New Spain. (And I thought the Barbary states never did anything.)
    4. Me fighting a naval battle against the emerged Quebec... both sides with full stacks of navies over 3rd rate. I lost. (seriously, that was a first)
    5. Ottomans (me!), going into the new world to kick some cherokee ass.

I registered an account just to comment on this topic!

I'm currently playing out a game, post victory condition, as Sweden. Now, having arrived at the sudden horror that I realized Hitler's dream, a Nordic people controlling Germany plus some "living space" in Eastern Europe and a nice colonial empire in South America, I start getting messages from the Marthas asking to trade for Dutch Guyana. Any time the Dutch are eradicated, I like to pilfer their colonies. Well, the Marthas apparently decided on the same strategy. And thanks to a vast Indian empire (they own everything from Bengal to Persia except Mysore), they have almost inexhaustible resources. So, they invaded Dutch Guyana.

I'd offer that an Indian (dot not feather) invasion of the New World qualifies as pretty unhistorical.

Lol - and that's also why it is mentioned more than once on this thread I believe. Have had that happen to me too, and also they've shown up elsewhere in the Caribbean islands where I've owned territory. They even invaded the Knights of St John once, in the Mediterranean. In my latest campaign as Prussia I left the Marathans to their own devices for far too long and yup, hello Persia. I think you either have to settle for having them as an ally and forgetting about India or dealing with them early on. If not, you will probably see some weird stuff happening with them and you will lose a lot of men trying to defeat them. Overpowered is putting it mildly.
Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out...and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel. ..And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for "the universal brotherhood of man"-- with his mouth.
Mark Twain - What Is Man?
