Yeah, but Night Lords are not the average Chaos warband...if anything, they despise Chaos as much as they despise the IoM...and that's why I find them fascinating lorewise, never mind their badass looks...

I remember my first introduction to those guys in the cityfight opening demo game GW ran in white dwarf and later appearing in the cityfight codex. They completely annihilated an Imperial Guard army twice their size. Been a secret fan of those guys ever since.

Night Lords & Relictors, bad asses amongst bad asses, both Chapters cliniging on that fine line between the chaotic goods and chaotic evils , the most bad ass position one can take in the grimdarkian universe of 40k:
    NEUTRAL !

The Night Lords are no Chapter...THEY ARE LEGION!
And the Night Haunter is sooo much win...second only to Sanguinius, in my book...a Joker in mind, yet a Batman at heart....And the subtle references of his story, a tribute to the masterpiece "Apocalypse Now" are just amazing....

From Fabius Bile. The same as most other Legions.

Either that or steal it from dead loyalist Marines.

But wait, I thought being a Night Lord meant first and foremost that you can see in teh dark.
Only guys born on Nocturne can do that.
So how do ya teach non-Nocturne born foreigners to do that?

Nocturne is the Homeworld of Salamanders m8...the Night Lords' Homeworld was called Nostramo (a reference to Alien, perhaps?)

Eh? Why ? It should be called Nocturne. They are all about night-tactics and stealth and stuff.

So, how do teh new recruits see in the dark ?

Well they are actually about terror tactics. Alpha Legion are more about stealth. Yes the Night Lords do sneak, but that is only to get into position before they massacre an army or whatever.

About the night vision thing. Only the original legionaries had all of the Genetic Enhancements meant for Night Vision. The actual people who lived on Nostramo were partially adapted for Night Vision. In fact it was more of a weakness, when not in total darkness. For example, when the Big E arrived many were blinded when they looked at him, due to them never seeing light before.
