It means half the video is legal and half of it isn't and given there's long been precedent for taking down illegally used stuff...its nothing more than the owners of Youtube covering their own ass.

The video, usually a music video, infringes on a copyright. Big wigs that make assloads of money every year at Universal Music Group, etc. can sue for it to be taken down. Youtube is a private company, and they don't have to host that video.

Actually UMG tends to be very chill about it so long as you get their permission I think, they won't let you embed but it's better than nothing. It's WMG that are the s about it.

Out of my youtube playlist of approx. 10 songs, 2 of them have become unavailable in my country... That and the music being removed are the reasons I don't favourite'd songs anymore, since it seems rather pointless.

Youtube's purpose was really lost when they started putting Commercials up that you had to watch before the video.
Damn Google and their totalitarian beliefs.
