and is it only isen who can see the event?
When a evil faction conquers Fangorn there Ents are spawned. The Elves can recruit ents as mercenaries in Fangorn but they have a maximum pool of one and a refreshment time of 33 turns. The pool starts out empty so the first allied ents become available at turn 33 or 34.

No I have been on this forum for way too long and I remember many questions that are already asked in here. I also don΄t get tired of answering these questions easily so I keep on answering them even though this question has been asked 4 times in the questions thread (Where this should have been posted) and in 2 other threads (3 including this one) made for this purpose (Thus making them spam.)
I meant that I do not get tired of answering these questions easily. It΄s also true that answering them is easy but that is not the point of my post.
That's why we like you Muf.![]()

So are the elves the only faction that can recruit Ents? So if Eraidor takes the forest they can not recruit ents Muffer?
No they can't. As mentioned above only Elves can.
And you do not need to take the city. You only need a general in the region to recruit them. You can΄t even recruit Ents from the city itself.
From what I've seen Ents don't spawn (Isengard captured Fangorn dozens of times in my game and I never saw Ents.) Ents are recruited as mercenaries from Fangorn by recruiting your first unit of Ents you'll trigger the "Ents march to war" video.
can HE also recruit them? because only SE have them in custom battles i think..
He can recruit them too.
About the spawning thing I think it only occurs in RR/RC when an evil faction conquers Fangorn. I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen in vanilla.
I played a HE campaign on vanilla and I could recruit ent mercenaries in fangorn. I don't remember any event, and Rohan conquered Fangorn and didn't ever lose it to Isengard (I took it from them though 'cause they attacked me and I don't takefrom puny men haha).
These puny men beat the livingout of the vast majority of 200,000 Orcs at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and with a force of only 6,000 cavalrymen and then stared down a approaching line of Mumakil and held them off long enough for the Army of the Dead to finish them off. Puny men?... Pfft. :XD
I really hated that in the movie... THE ARMY OF THE DEAD DID NOT FIGHT ON THE PELENNOR!!! EVER
That was one of the three things I really have against the movies. The others are the omission of Tom Bombadil, without doubt the single coolest character in the entire series haha I mean think about it, some little chubby dude with a sweet babe waiting at home all dayAnd the lack of any real Glorfindel bits, I mean come on, they replaced him with Arwen! I mean WTF!!!
Not really a gripe at you, as I get your point, men aren't too bad, they are much better when I control them (Gondor VH/VH at the moment). The film really undermined the strength of men IMHO as it was reinforcements from the southern feifs and rohan which saved Minas Tirith that day. It just detracted from the whole 'if men work together they can overcome all perils' thing.
I conquered fangorn fairly early in my Isengard campaign. Saw some ents spawn outside the city, I was like cool, ents... they must be engaged! Needless to say I got stomped, really really bad.
