Ok I got the Python editor thing but whenever I try to open it it brings up the what do you want to open this file with box so any ideas?

Need more information. You run the Python file, whatever it is, and get that.
Probably you need to browse to your Python installation and run the executable
file to start Python and get the script to run. There are some Windows hacks to make
this easier, but that's a later thing; get the script running first and then it can be made
easier.

I'm making the leap of faith assumption that this is one of the variant_weighted_models,
rigid_models, projectile_models, etc. scripts.
