    Default Full blown campaign

    Hi all,

I'm a newbie to this mod, so I was hoping I could get a few questions answered.

First off, I've been a RTW player for years. I got the Total War: Eras bundle when it came out, and after about 6 months or so with vanilla, I've played absolutely nothing but mods (mostly SPQR, some EB, some Roma Surrectum).

This weekend, I finally decided to try out BI, and I was just stunned at how good it was. This was VANILLA and it was actually challenging! I was losing battles, my economy was barely staying afloat, the Sassanids were at my doorstep in the east, and a massive horde of Huns were invading my lands from the west, IT WAS FANTASTIC! (I was playing ERE btw)

So now that I'm totally hooked on this period in history, I'm looking to give IBFD a try. Vanilla's great, but it can never match quality mods, and I've heard lots of good things about this mod.

My main question is this: Are all these campaigns separate from each other or can I play through them in one grand campaign that stretches from the AD 300s to the late 400s? If not, do you guys have plans to make a grand campaign? Also, given that each of these campaigns seem to have been developed by different people, are they all radically different from each other? Radically different unit rosters, radically different unit balances and stats, etc., or is there some measure of uniformity across the campaigns?

Thanks, and LONG LIVE THE LATE EMPIRE!!!

rep me if you like my posts, and it's highly likely you'll get some back

They are all independent installs. Because of the dynamics of those times, just one mod covering almost 200 years wouldn't make justice to the craziness of the era, I believe. The mods are different among each other in many respects, though they still keep a common spirit. They are variations of the same cake, I'd say . In summary, I think each of them offers particularities that you may enjoy. That's what I love about IB: it's the same project but with so many different flavours that is almost impossible to get tired of it.
