Mastery of Europe... just europe?

I know from the reviews that Europe is going to have a far better detailed campaign map than Empire, however what about the rest of the world (Empire´s world)? will be in NTW?

what a let down if it isn´t, don´t you think?

regardless, a more detailed europe (or anywhere really) is good.

It is focused on the Napoleonic wars, and I don't think they will include the same sort of theatres as in Empire total war. Empire total war was more creating colonies everywhere, while this game is about the Napoleonic wars in Europe, Egypt, Italy. And as it, I think, already says: Grand Campaign in Empire total war, but Mastery of Europe in Napoleon Total war.

Only Europe, but a much bigger Europe, and considering the other big sum of features it's cool and enough

i think it's a good move to have a smaller map ie Europe and reduce the turn times (to a couple weeks isnt it?) In the Napoleonic time frame a war of maneuver was beginning to happen so the days of one big set piece battle every 6 months was coming to end. Better strategy requires shorter movement points, so a whole world map would mean it would take hundreds of turns to invade the Americas, India etc.

I am glad it is only Europe. CA has no excuse to not flesh out the gameplay and Factions on such a focused subject.

if its now focused in europe than the AI might be slightly better as it can now focuse rather than managing the entire world

That would also be a positive effect of keeping it to Europe.

CA focused too much on RtI and America (maybe why?) in ETW, and it's a very good thing they have no America to mess the game again in NTW

So if it`s just europe in NTW, what happens to the superior CAI that Mike Simpson spoke about for ETW? He said it wasn`t quite up to the superior level it was meant to be, so I thought maybe it was going to go into NTW?

ah, Who am I kidding, there was no such superior CAI that ran away with them anyway.

I don´t know you but, with time, I´m going to miss other territories to conquer, estabilize trade agreements or take care.

I hated America and India in ETW, I sold all my colonies over in those places at the start of the campaign. I prefer much more just Europe!

Fine, but maybe some of you are forgetting that 18th-19th century warfare actually spanned further than just europe. Harping on about Europe all the time is like saying WW2 took place only in Europe.

Completely with you. Napoleon thought the same, hence why he sold Louisiana to the Americans

However the point of invading Egypt was to get to India and take out the British there, cutting off their trade and thus their power.

I don't think the Americas and India are neccesary for Napoleon TW, but including them in some way is, even if its the most small mention....

Perhaps when CA discuss Europe they mean the same area labelled Europe in Empire, that is: Europe, The Near East and North Africa - instead of just Western Europe on its own.
