    Default special units

    i was playing 4th age and i saw elves and drawves and i was wondering since they knt be revruited or retrained can i use the unit creation cheat to create them?

    You can use the unit creation cheat to create any unit in the game (even ones that don't belong to your faction). If it says that the unit cannot be found, then go to the export_descr_unit.txt file in the mod's data folder, and look it up.

    If the units don't have a skin specified for a faction (in descr_model_battle), the game will crash when entering battlemap mode.

    so wait is there no way of recruiting them ever?

    Without editing the files, no; they are not meant to be so. In the full map version that's to come, there will be playable Elves and Dwarves, so of course their units will be recruitable.

    when will the full version come into existence? will dreaming of it make it go faster?

    Positive thinking is always good.

    We are making progress towards that goal, but there are lot of things to do and the team is small atm, so it will take time.

    Btw, the Elves of Ithilien and Dwarves of Aglarond units for RK and Rohan respectively have the appropriate textures/sprites defined for those factions, so adding them via the console wouldn't cause any problems.

    Hey man first of all I have to say great mod. Love it. I have been playing the RS mod for so long that I didnt stop to check what else is on offer out ther but I am glad that I have come to my senses. Cant wait for the dwarfs and elves factions to come. Now can you help me out with two things?

    Where do I look for the descr_start file for the main campaign. The one I found doesn't seem to be the right one? And also I cant find where I can recruit Mumakil units.

    Glad you like the mod.

    descr_strat is in RTW/bi/ci/data/world/maps/campaign/the_new_shadow.

    Mumakil are recruited in regions with the ivory resource (you'll see mumak tusks on the campaign map), and they require the appropriate Diversification Building (whicn in turn requires a large city).
