Default How to speed up the turns?

I've recently reformatted and reinstalled windows-xp just to be able to have faster turns. But it looks like its my system. What affects the next turn waits in the game, processor/memory/video? I have 3600mhz/dual core, 3G memory and a 4870 Radeon.

    Thanks for the help!

your system sounds perfectly adequate (and probably better than most people's (incl mine)
end turn times depend on what the system is doing - are you running other progs in the back ground?
watching what the AI is doing slows down end-turns a lot.
other than that it's dependent on how much work the processor has to do.
it's unlikely that reformatting would achieve much, apart from perhaps clearing unused stuff off your hard drive.
you might want to look at the campaign script to see if there are any features you don't need that fire every turn.
look in the system log between the end of your turn and the start of a new one and see where the time goes.

SS is inherently slower than unmodded version (by a lot) there isn't a whole lot you can do about that. my solution was to read a book after i pushed end turns lol

Yeah, how long do your end turns take? For me, it can go up to 2 minutes.

Mine's usually 1-2 minute too anyway (no BYG) , I notice that 6.2 RR/RC 1.3 seems better than 6.1 though. for fun I started an Americas campaign (the kingdom one) and I loled when one turn took less than 10 seconds.

That's because there is like 10 factions and hardly any campaign script in the americas campaign.

Hopefully upcoming garrison script won't add too much time.
