is there anyway to make specific units walk/run faster than others?
for example, i would like to have light cavalry to be faster than heavy cavalry, and the same for light/heavy infantry

Yes in kingdoms it's like this:
attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, can_withdraw, free_upkeep_unit
move_speed_mod 0.97
formation 1.0, 1.0, 2.4, 2.4, 4, square, shield_wall
In the example the unit will be moving 3% slower than normal.
and if i add
move_speed_mod 1.10
(10% more)?
or 1.0 is the limit?
