    Default making campaign harder

Hi all, how can we make the campaign more challenging? Here are my rules and changes. Any suggestions? I play on h/h

    1. Increase mental by 2 or even 4 for a challenge
    2. Add more units at the start like put more rebels in the towns to prevent blitzing, and add more troops in all of the factions cities and armies. I usually put mostly cheap spearmen elites would be tough. And I put no additional units in my faction.
    3. Increase Factions money, I usually put like 100,000-150,000 denari for each faction, and I usually set my money for 35,000 recently I would probably need more lol but if you wanna try less go ahead.
    4. I turn rebel spawn off set it to 999 lol I don't play with rebels too tedious and messes with ai idk but I keep the pirate spawn the way it is maybe we can increase the pirate spawn but by what number?
    5. I haven't done this but I heard it would be a challenge to increase the armor of the enemy but I don't no how there's alot of numbers if anyone knows plz tell.
    6. Try not to restart the campaign or a battle and play the way things turn out and take the losses it should be a challenge.
    7. Blitzing should be maid tough there should be a good amount of rebels in the towns and everywhere to slow the progress.
    8. I play with land bridges on. and ai bonus

    Hmm what else?

Increasing your money can take away most of the challenge.
Some campaigns are harder than others, try the seleucids and let me know how it goes, otherwise you can increase AI bonuses by editing their monument in EDB.

Barbarian campaigns with added money are childīs play. They get their top units quick and normally have a good economy once launched,

How about whatever default they get.. If you're trying to make the game harder, avoid giving yourself bonuses you don't need. Like money. Most factions get 5000 denarii or maybe 10000 to start.

Just look for monument, it's near the end of the file.
    Bonuses should be self explanatory.

If you want a challenge play seleucid with the default settings, it will make you think twice about difficulty settings

ok then I'll put 5,000-15,000 as my starting money, hmm I would have never thought the seleucids were a challenging faction b/c they start out with so much territory what makes them so hard to play? Also I was thinking about fighting the battles without pausing it at all or mayb just a minimum of 3 pauses per battle.

TSE is posibly the most difficult faction to play as. Low infrastructure, spread out empire, many borders to defend, and even though you have all that territory, you're quite poor. You need to think about where the money will be most efficient for every denarii you spend.

Depending on your skill level, playing the Seleucids at m/m or h/h or a combination thereof and not pausing will be a great challenge in itself.

Hey, I want to increase some stats in the units file in my next campaign besides mental does anyone have any ideas what stats to increase and how. For example I've heard you can increase the enemies armor by 1 or do something with the arrows. There's so many numbers in armor witch one do I increase? Thank you

First one is armour value, followed by defence skill and shield.

Ok so I'll increase the armor value by one and and moral by 2 when the new xc comes out ty. Also what other factions besides the seleucids are hard to play with? are you saying that the seleucids are the hardest faction to play with?

Gauls is hard faction due to starting position is cliffhanging that every loss is significant and both Spain and Rome are potential enemies with tendency to rampage around.

Pontus in XC start as one province kingdoms in hottest spot of the map surround with enemies that far greater than you.

Bactria is in very hard situation as it surround by deceptive looking factions of greater powers but with many special feature that need to learn to exploit them to surviving as Bactria. By far, I think that it is impossible to survive as Bactria if you didn't know about XC mechanic.

Never thought about the gauls being a challenge, I might play as pontus I like there bronze shield pikemen and color also how they start off small and become large. The only thing abbout bactria is that they are non playable in the imperial campaign, what's the difference with playing as bactria in the imperial campaign vs where it is now in the providence campaigns? Does the providential campaigns take out some things the imperial campaign has like the senate or does it add stuff?

Also I was wondering if xc uses the one or two hit point system? If it uses the two I might have to increase arrow damage. Thankyou

XC uses one hitpoint, we rely on different things to slow down battles.

Bactria is undoubtedly the most difficult campaign in Extended Cultures, after that, it depends on your playing style. I find Gaul rather easy. Any provincial campaign will be difficult as well. Pyrrhus is certainly hard.

The Bactria provincial campaign is simply playing as Bactria. There are no changes other than those to allow Bactria to be playable.
