    Default Hajj

    Hajj

    Tent City of Minaa

    Arafat (place of hajj)

    Nigh at Muzdalifah

    People Stoning the Satan

    Ka'ba

Hajj's theme song: (Translation) I am here my lord i am here (before you) i am here no on is equal to you all the praises and blessings are your and the land and no one is equal to you.

Day before yesterday was hajj day.the biggest festival on face of earth.I went there in 2007 but still i want to go there every year.Hajj during which first time i understood the greatness of Allah and that how much miserable creature human being is.you love to hug ka'ba in mecca and say every thing to the owner of that big block house having magnetic powers, you love to be in company of Prophet (pbuh) and his companions.

But strange thing is that Hajj is not celebrated in mecca or medina and more strange thing is that even than you enjoy and feel much better than in mecca or medina.Hajj is love not just a religious festival. And if we keep away non-muslims even muslims who have never been there don't really know what hajj is.

    Your thoughts.

"I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today." Not trying to be offensive as I respect those who hold their faith deraly, but does going around in circles and looking at a rock really worth traveling to Mecca to going threw this ceremony?

/a skeptical view on religion and this event from an atheist.

Regardless of my thoughts: That's a crap load of people - the Saudi Gov't must cut it's teeth to house you all and to feed you.

A friend of mine went on his pilgrimage. It is always crowded there, and he stayed in one of the tent cities. It is a huge source of income for the Saudi government. Think about it, you get millions of people from all over the world traveling there. They need a place to stay, food to eat, and they will most likely shop there. Even though I am not Muslim, I always wanted to go there. It is my second most desirable city in the Middle East to visit after Dubai.

you can now see the photo of tent city where people live only 5 days in whole year, in my first post and the place muzdalifah where we sleep under open sky all millionaires or poor like baggers, and we pick pebbles to hit Satan.

    I heard about that.

Seems like a pointless thing for 346 people to die for.

Ok so the probability of death is less than 0.2% assuming only 2,000,000 pilgrims attended (estimates range up to 3,000,000) ... I'll take my chances...

I understand that practical realities may not be ideal, but is it not one of the Five Pillars? Are you allowed to just ignore it?

Man Iblis has taken over your head.
seriously you say you're Muslim, but your posts in this forum indicates you aren't

1- in an old thread about building hotels in Mecca, you said the Kaaba is an idol cube.

2- you also said that Prophet Muhammad never received revelation from God instead he suffered from epileptics episodes, thus you deny the validity of Quran as the words of God.

3- you say '' Hajj is pagan rituals''.

after all you claim you are a Muslim and for that reason I owe you no respect. I'll respect you if you say you're not Muslim and you don't believe in Islam.
but if you insist to claim you are Muslim -Though you deny all the principles of Islam- then my friend I'm afraid to tell you you're schizophrenic .

Anyway, Im sorry to all the Muslims in this forum but I have to formally announce to you all that I have evolved from Islam and I hope I wont get stoned for this or something.

man you didn't get the point you're not Muslim,I'll completely understand any non-Muslim who denies Muhammad as the last Prophet of God.
but what I don't -and I can't- understand when a person claims he's a Muslim and in the meantime denounces Muhammed. what a contradiction isn't it?

    @ Jenkren
Thanks for clearing this out, in the end it's your choice and no body else.
but try to be less offensive in your posts about Islam.
this will be my last post about jenkren's faith.

Seriously tho, regardless my view of Islam, I think everyone (including non-Muslims) should go to perform a Hajj if they can. Its one of the things you have to do once in your life. Even though it looks like a stupid ritual but if you follow all the series of rituals which make up the Hajj (its not only encircling the black cube), its actually a really cool experience.

Come on, man... You could at least do a little cursory research about what people do on Hajj, and why, before you comment. That's an embarrassment.

Such a thing is a tragedy, not the norm, but your opinion on validity is of course oh so important.

Well of course it is, to me.

Call me some crazy rationalist, but I think that if a single person dies for the privilege of throwing some rocks at a pretend evil bogeyman, that is ridiculous and unacceptable, let alone hundreds.

I have researched why people go there and I think it's way over blown and exaggerated.

And no it's not an embarrassment.
