~ Lore Enhanced Mod ~
The former version (Expanded Family Trees) was very outdated and has been removed. This project started simply as an expansion of the family trees, out of my love for historical accuracy and lore, and ended up becoming much more than just that. The new version, which I've been working on for the last year, with many changes and additions of content from various mods with their permission, is nearly finished and will be released as soon as possible.
Changes:
- Insanely expanded and lore-accurate family trees for all factions
- Lore-accurate starting generals and governors
- Lore-accurate names, epithets and titles of characters
- New names for most factions
- Lore-accurate names of settlements and provinces
- Lore-accurate starting territories for all factions
- Lore-accurate starting relations between factions
- Lore-accurate ages of starting generals (wherever possible)
- Corrected faction colours
- The additional generals and siege settlement scripts are now removed, to allow for a slower start
- Size of settlements changed according to lore (villages more common, important cities more advanced)
- Assassins are now disabled
- Princesses are now enabled for certain factions
- More resources added on the map
- No snow on Lórien and Rivendell
- New forts added (many of them being actual stone forts in battlemap too)
- New regional videos added, including a surprise intro video (thanks to Baron Samedi)
- Various new and modified scripts included
- Many new ancillaries and region titles added
- New biographies added for almost all generals
- Enriched, extended and lore-accurate texts/descriptions for ancillaries, biographies, events, units ect
- New quotes, taken only from the books
- New faction interfaces included
- New and lore-accurate faction symbols and banners added
- New custom portraits made for some characters
- New portraits for spies, diplomats and princesses
- Old age portraits made for all starting generals of Men
- New family portraits for wives, sons and daughters
- New generals added, including Galadriel
- New battle models for various heroes (including Galadriel)
- New and lore-wise corrected strat models for generals, captains and agents added
- Various unique buildings added
- Plate armour removed from most Gondor units (thanks to Taro_M)
- Many changes in unit stats and unit recruitment
- Mercenary units added
- Many additional units included for most factions from various sub-mods
- Many new factions added (using relevant material from other sub-mods), including Lórien, Beornings, Dorwinion, Dol Amroth and the Shire
- The Balrog starts as a general for OotMM with zero movement points, as a one-man unit
- Sauron starts as a general for Mordor with zero movement points, as a one-man-unit
- Elves are now immortal (max age of all characters is set to 3070 years), while the starting generals of Men and Dwarves and Hobbits are scripted to die at a reasonable (or even lore-accurate) age
And various other small changes and details which I probably forget...
