    Default Factions need more generals! PRONTO!

    i really lack words to describe the following, but here goes nothing...

    after 36 turns i killed mordor. at osgiliath. by killing some random orc general and the witchking.

    EPIC

    FAIL

    before that, i played a game as Isengard.

    turn 50, i finally have 4 stacks, and are ready to finally invade rohan...

    that is until the bastards faction dies due to no generals.


    i was so ing mad i just quit the game and erased the savegame. 50 turns for nothing! who gives a about killing the elves when your greatest opponent dies of a ing heart attack or something?



    please, PLEASE, make more generals available for all factions!

    as another side note, this happened to me as the silvan elves, on turn 103, as i was finally going to retake minas tirith! boom, single assasin kills thranduil the godlike being of destruction. game over your faction destroyed

    Just dont let them die in battle ive never had a problem with lack of Generals for evil factions.

    ive seen rhun and mordor die due to lack of generals a few times..

    Get RR/RC, which fixes the family tree issues for Orc factions and includes the Immortal Nazgul sub-mod, which respawns the Nazgul when you kill them.

    I think it's again the same issue. He needs to patch his TW:Kingdoms to v1.5.

    PS Ah... just noticed it's the same person who made both threads.

    This "known v1.5 bug" is news to me but it seems like all of a sudden everyone knows about it. Maybe the TATW installation instructions should mention it. All I've heard before now is that v1.4 is enough.

    It's never "old patch is enough". You should always have latest patch.

    Having the latest version is always a good plan, but AFAIK running versions older than 1.5 being the cause of early faction death is currently only a theory of KKs, unless I've missed something he's not stated it as a definite cause.
    There's also at least one other thing going on in the vanilla game which can lead to early faction deaths, so even if running pre V1.5 is an issue, it's not the only reason why one might experience AI factions dying out early.

    Yikes, sorry, I was not thinking straight when I wrote that. I was confusing it with "v1.3 patch not required because it's included in Kingdoms". Please ignore utterly.

    Hmmm well the sad part about most good factions is they follow family trees...evil on the other hand I think follows more of a "best general rules the kingdom approach" which makes it less likely the death of a faction leader would end the faction...then again mordor just turned rebel so idk what happened there. Anyone by chance know if mordor is a family system or if its an order system?

    I feel your pain though, thats what's happening in my game, rohan is going strong but at the same time few family members. I fear another mordor incident might unfold. I just wish the AI didnt like assasins so much and that they used their family memebrs more wisely.

    Why not allow factions to train and recruit generals. I know that a sub mod for RTR allowed that and that was pretty sweet when you needed a quick general. It took about 2 turns to train the general.
