Mustaches, of course :D

I'd like to ask CA to read this topic. I've seen on the screens that some units (the Old Guards) in NTW don't have moustaches. Most of units are clean-shaven. It's quite unrealistic as in the era of Napoleon, the moustaches were very popular. They we're characteristical for many units (just like uniforms, hat, etc.). The only army that ordered it's soldiers to shave was the English one (excluding hussars, Scot Greys and some of the Rifle regiments). All other armies, especially French, Prussian, Austrian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch and German countries had moustaches very often. All hussars, lancers, uhlans and cuirassiers (excluding cuirassier officers) were obligated to wear moustache. In the screens you can see Napoleon's Old Guards to be clean shaved. It doesn't fit their image at all. Please do not add bears. Those are 2 different things. Only units wearing beards at that time were sappers.That was their characteristic feature. Please, take these things into consideration.

Lol at ETW people were complaining about the soldiers not being clean shaved and now you´re complaining about the soldiers not having mustaches.

when was that? Maybe about the English soldiers.

Hope they're gonna make it right in the game, if all those are placeholders. But isn't it too late for placeholders? I mean, can a game be made in months from A to Z?

Well, it's simply because bearded 18th century officers and clean-shaven napoleonic soldiers is very much like clean-shaven Celts and bearded legionaries!

All pictures of the Old Guards with golden eppuilettes (their mean't to be red) are placeholders, just wait a few weeks, then you'll see the real screenshots.

British redcoats with moustaches just look so wrong...and yet it is so becoming of British officers later in the century!

That said, wasn't it required to grow a moustache if you were part of the Old Guard?

well like at least the russians seem to have beards

@ OP: I find it funny you can refer to the British Army as "the English one" and then go on to mention 'Scots Greys'...

Moustaches are a key gameplay feature. Please CA, do them!

It is a known fact that 18th-century officers drew their authority from looking like Billy Mays, which is why they invariably wore stupid-looking and unhistorical beards!

It's a good (and reasonable) idea, wont take much effort and may help to portray something of the character of that period.

I hope, just like there are going to be 63 faces there will be many bears and moustaches, for even more veriety
