Something very hard to do: hats off

Something would decorate ours battlefields: if some soldiers being killed or hitten loose their shakos or hats...

BUT I AGREE it' s not a priority!!! Let' sthink about it for later, when the others things will be perfect!

Remember, everything has to be discussed, its arogant people that come in and say, "thats not importants, only AI is", yes we know AI is important, but we must discuss everything eventually. Anyway, I would like to see little things like that, they have annouced that you will see dead horsemen being dragged by panicked horses.

Really, have they announced this? That is awesome Its stupid that both the rider and the horse die at the same time in rome, m2 and etw

Yeah, but you'll probarly going to see horses running trough trees and walls .

Perhaps as a unit decreases in number and perhaps during battle or on campaign, hats are lost and uniformity collapses to a degree with wounded and dirty soldiers.

Anything is possible

I doubt this would ever happen because CA would then have to code proper HAI (hat artificial intelligence)

knowing how that type of coding tends to ellicit feedback from the community, CA would then have another type of AI to answer for, such as why hats are falling in the wrong direction or why they don't scatter far enough...

It wouldn't be that hard to do I imagine, since they say they are going to make men fall off horses when it dies. Supposedly the horse can even run away with the rider dead on the ground, the same thing could be used for hats (but randomized by like a dice throw percentage sort of system). Getting them to fall off could use the same system but only when soldiers are either running or charging an enemy unit. Hell I would be all for soldiers dropping guns accidentally or tripping when about to charge, it happened quite frequently. But it is near the bottom of the wishlist, but would be cool!

Good AI is useless when the game is unrealistic and not immersive/

I am absolutly with you on this point, but it was to prevent people to make me 500 post like: "what you are interested by a problem of hats, or uniform? And the battle AI ,and the bug of melee etc". I think that accurate uniforms and animations like hats off, or soldiers routing, throwing their weapons or backpacks to run faster, will be an extraordinary chance to make the game more fun and immersive.

This sounds like a good idea..

Does anyone remember back in the days before MTW2 was going to be released did they say shields may take visible damage?

It would be great if an army that is low on supply and suffering attrition and had suffered casualties started to show wear and tear on the men's uniforms. I know that won't happen because of the extra work that having more models would create but maybe some modders can add that later with the uniform editor. Flags already do this on the campign map so it is "only a small" step to take it to the next level, right.
