Attack of the Clones army again! again... :/

I see that CA continues to repeat mistakes. Promised that it will face more per one unit. Units are still clones army. When I wrote about this fact a few weeks ago Jack_Lusted assured me that it was old and the new screens will be new units, historical uniforms, more faces etc.. He assured me that the new screens soon, with the new uniforms system. Today, his team released the latest screenshots. I can see is still the same error as in the previous game. Still there are 2 faces on units.

Please notice that we can see in game only faces #1 and #2 in the game whereas number 3 and 4 are only in the textures files. The game engine doesn't allow regiments to use 4 different faces. Because of this bug, many people call ETW "a clone army". It also takes away much of diversification from ETW comparing to MTW2 which had 6 different faces per regiment. Please, fix it in the next patch.

True, STOP the Clones

I understand they'll say its because those screenshots might be old but I am still worried about it. And also the freaking Boar Spear. I'd kill for a good looking lance.

In that first screen you posted, note how the two sets of soldiers are in the exact same stance. It seems like whoever made that bit of promotional material just decided to copy the image of the two soldiers, shrink it, and paste it in the background. So, it may be a bad screenshot, but it does not necessarily mean clone faces at all.

On the first screenshots of the ETW I saw that they were clones. CA assured me that this is just the early version and the clones will not be in the future. But as they released the full version were still clones. When NTW was similar. They asserted a few weeks ago that the most recent screenshots will not be clones. Today presented the latest screenshots and they are still clones. I do not already believe them.

Unfortunately, chances are NTW will be the same as ETW in regards to clone armies.

Clones yes and as Jack is no doubt bored to death of saying by now those are placeholder units.

Is this part of your helping CA to sell NTW now after the farce that was ETW which you also helped propaganderised and banned many people who spoke truth about the faults of ETW and Steam-Only?

Though I should point out that Shire is backing himself up with evidence. Not to mention that TWCenter is really just a tiny community of the total war fanbase (not to mention most people here I bet don't even play or care about the game to begin with)

It is a shame we play with clone armies while there are two additional face textures going to waste.

I am also concerned about those unhistorical spear units, Unless someone can confirm this "Towarczys" unit, I guess i have to wait buying it until a good historical mod is out (if possible).

Doesn't the guy in the back have a bigger mustache?

At least the artillery crew look different (uniform) than the line infantry.

One of these guys (the big mustaches) is artillery officer
Other have 2 faces: light mustaches and without

Wow CA is making plenty of units with a beard and a moustache. I bet all the creators have beards and mustaches, thats why.

The two in front seem similar, tho the one to the left looks like having bigger sidebeards Anyhow i will be more concerned with how many men into the battle i may bring then the detail.

Certain regiments only enlisted men with a beard

Ummm, big mistake, it still is over 64 faces, just for every type of unit their are like two faces, look at the whole entire game and their are hearps of different faces all over in different units. Their is still clone units, just not clone armies.

What makes you think these aren't just placeholders, out of curiosity?

Just because they put these shots on their website today, doesn't mean they are final...
Beside that, it's 3 months, not 2, IF they don't delay it.

And i thought i was too critical with CA...

Just wait for the damn game. If it will be the same in the final game with all of ETW flaws, don't buy it (atleast i won't). Simple as that. Complaining now about this doesn't help you, because CA will not make any big changes in the game anymore, if they really release it in 3 months. 2 Month beta testing is minimum, plus the game will be in Gold status about two weeks before the release.

Models from Rusichi TW (Medieval 2: TW) look better than Towarczys unit. They have more details...
