-why doesnt AIPAC register asa foreign agent, considering they obviously are in favour of israel's interests over that of the USG?

To be honest, with new and friendly regimes on the buildup the Middle East, the US' reliance on Israel will be much lessened and I think over the next couple of decades, we'll see a decline in our absolute support of them. Already now we are seeing diplomats start taking stances on the Palestinian issue.
