Can't say I am angry over this (my accounts are with the Halifax) but it does show just to what a shocking extent the Banking Crisis got to last year. Vince Cable is demanding a statement in the Commons.

Pretty easy to get a PII (public interest immunity) suppression order over that one from a judge, the public's right to know weighed agaisnt the collapse of the UK banking system. And now it's been paid back, so we can tell every one.

Plenty of stuff you never find out.

There is a question of accountability, though. If parliament never knew how could they have expressed any objection? It's not democratic, and it came days before the bailout. There's also the matter of the lloyds rbs merger, which we now know was made without possession of the facts.
