Default It seems the Caucuses may be competing here...

Armenia offers to deploy troops to ISAF, and now Georgia decides 600 soldiers are not enough and increasing to 900 soldiers.

And I wonder if Armenia's deployment is a result of Azerbaijan's plans to try to join NATO, which is probably Azerbaijan's reason for increasing its contingent.

Georgia has been planning a large contribution for ages, eventually with series of phased deployments 1900 peacekeepers will be deployed. Currently 173 have been deployed. I welcome the deployments. The Netherlands and Canada are pulling out and someone needs to fill the void created by that and it seems with the present situation that more and more troops are needed. If there is a little competition between the Caucuses it can only be good, we need the troops. Perhaps the region can match what Gordon Brown is trying to achieve, a 5000 strong NATO deployment. If so, that 10000, plus a American troop surge and maybe we'll have the troop numbers we actually need for the first time.

Tell me I'm not the only one who saw "Caucuses" and thought 'Election? WTF?' before clicking on the thread....
One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.
